Kia is introducing a service in the North American market that allows customers to customize the design of their vehicle’s cluster and infotainment display according to their preferences.
On the 19th (Friday), Kia announced the launch of 30 different ‘display themes’ for each NBA team in advance of the NBA playoffs in the U.S.
The display themes are a personalized service that supports custom vehicle experiences by allowing changes to the colors and graphics of the cluster and infotainment display, as well as the animations that play when starting and shutting down the vehicle.
Customers will be able to purchase their preferred NBA team’s display theme through the ‘Kia Connect Store’ and apply it to their vehicle’s display via over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Kia first introduced the display theme in the region on the 9th (local time) for the EV9, with plans to expand this feature to vehicles equipped with the next-generation infotainment system ‘ccNC’ and wireless software update capabilities in the second half of this year in Korea.
This development of display themes aligns with Kia’s accelerated transition toward software-defined vehicles (SDV), enhancing product variety to offer customers a more personalized vehicle experience.
Pablo Martinez, Executive Director of Kia’s CXD division, stated, “With the launch of display themes, customers can now upgrade their vehicles with a unique flair even after purchase. In the future, Kia plans to continuously introduce more diverse themes along with innovative brand collaborations and leading digital specifications.”
