Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy Empowers Future Automotive Leaders

The Mercedes-Benz Community Engagement Committee announced that from the 11th, a two-day workshop titled ‘Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy 17th Career Development and Recruitment Workshop’ was held for 100 university students majoring in automotive studies from 10 universities nationwide at the ‘AMG Speedway’ located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The ‘Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy’ is an industry-academia cooperative program designed to impart excellent technical skills to students and develop future talents through global education know-how. This workshop was organized to help students prepare for employment by introducing various job roles where these skills are employed in the industry, aiding them in choosing the right career paths.

This workshop included several components: ▲ A job education program for career setting and development titled ‘Job Mentoring Program’, ▲ ‘Insights from Industry Professionals on the Automotive Industry and Roles’, ▲ a presentation by recruitment managers of official dealer companies, and ▲ an ‘AMG Speedway Driving Experience Program’ allowing participants to experience Mercedes-Benz’s superior technology through electric and high-performance AMG vehicles.

Notably, recruitment managers from seven authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer companies directly participated in the workshop, providing an introduction to their companies, along with recruitment information, assisting students in finding suitable companies for their future careers.

Lee Eun-jung, a member of the Mercedes-Benz Community Engagement Committee, stated, “The ‘Mobile Academy’, which aims to enhance students’ understanding of the automotive industry and provide practical help for their career development, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year,” adding, “We will continue our efforts and attention to cultivate talents for the automotive sector and contribute to the development of the domestic automotive market.”

A participant, Um Seung-hyuk from Shinhan University, remarked, “It was a great opportunity to address my concerns about my career, which I had been pondering alone, and it was a meaningful time. Especially, having various dealer company recruitment managers in one place to explain about their companies was very helpful.”

Since 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Community Engagement Committee has collaborated with 11 automotive universities nationwide to conduct the ‘Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy’ educational program for 220 students annually, producing a total of 1,785 graduates by 2023. Among the students who excelled in the 17th Mobile Academy, opportunities for a visit to the headquarters in Germany will be provided in June.
