Revolutionizing Delivery: Kakao Mobility and LG’s Cutting-Edge Robot Service ‘Bring’

Kakao Mobility has announced that it will unveil its robot delivery service ‘Bring’ and launch its own robot open API platform ‘BringOn’, aiming for commercial deployment of robot delivery services as of the 22nd.

‘Bring’ is a product that combines delivery robots with Kakao Mobility’s robot open API platform ‘BringOn’, capable of executing various services required by customers at their location, including ▲ Food and beverage delivery ▲ Office mail delivery ▲ Concierge services within hotels. The notable feature is its ability to control the platform, allowing it to operate even in existing buildings that are not designed for robots, such as offices, hotels, apartments, and hospitals.

Kakao Mobility has also developed a robot open API platform optimized for robot delivery, known as ‘BringOn’. It is based on an open API that integrates various delivery orders with robots, providing versatility without being constrained by the type of service or the model of the robot, allowing services to be tailored to the customer’s environment.

BringOn encompasses the mobility technologies that Kakao Mobility has accumulated, such as AI-based optimal dispatch, demand forecasting, and routing. This enables the sorting of complex delivery orders on the platform and dispatching them optimally to each robot, minimizing the need for manager intervention while maximizing delivery efficiency.

As it fully embraces robot delivery services, Kakao Mobility has partnered with LG Electronics. The two companies signed a business agreement in 2022 aimed at innovating future mobility services, continuously collaborating on the exploration of autonomous indoor and outdoor robot delivery service models.

Kakao Mobility is serving as the sole partner for LG Electronics in the robot delivery sector, introducing LG’s new delivery robot, the ‘LG CLOi ServeBot’ (double-door type), to the Bring platform. This collaboration with leading robot manufacturer LG Electronics ensures a stable supply of high-quality robot hardware and lays the groundwork for delivering a refined service.

Kakao Mobility will officially showcase the robot delivery service, starting with the introduction of Bring at the ‘Nudiet Seoul Forest’ in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, in collaboration with LG Electronics on the 25th. Nudiet is a multifaceted cultural space integrated with commercial and office buildings, where the delivery robot efficiently handles complex orders, such as receiving mail from a mailbox on the B2 level and picking up beverages from the cafeteria on the 5th floor of the commercial building before delivering them without complication to each office from the 6th to the 11th floors.

Jang Seong-wook, Director of Future Research at Kakao Mobility, stated, “The Bring platform, which integrates Kakao Mobility’s platform technology, is characterized by its expandability, allowing any service or robot to interoperate.” He added, “We expect that robot technology will contribute to reducing unnecessary movement in our daily lives, enhancing the value of everyday life, rather than being a distant future.”
