KG Mobility Powers into the Future at EVS 37 with Innovative EV Solutions

The ‘KG Mobility Torres EVX’ displayed at EVS 37

KG Mobility announced on the 22nd that it will strengthen its core capabilities in future mobility by demonstrating wireless charging technology using magnetic resonance at the world’s largest electric vehicle event, often referred to as the Olympic of electric vehicles.

KGM will participate in the ‘EVS 37 (The 37th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition)’, a global electric vehicle academic conference and exhibition, from the 23rd to the 26th, held at COEX in Seoul, where it will showcase the ‘Torres EVX’ and provide direction for the application of future technologies.

This year’s ‘EVS 37’, marking its 37th iteration, is the largest electric vehicle academic conference and exhibition in the world, hosted by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Asia-Pacific Electric Vehicle Association (EVAAP), with oversight from the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE). It has been held annually since 1969, cycling through North America, Europe, and Asia, and is being held for the third time in Korea following its previous events in 2002 and 2015.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘A Wave Towards Future Mobility,’ covering recent hot topics in electric vehicles, such as ‘Battery Thermal Runaway Phenomenon’ and ‘SDV Transition of Automakers.’ Additionally, global companies from seven categories, including finished vehicles, batteries, charging, and parts, will fill the exhibition halls.

During the exhibition, KGM will operate a booth showcasing the ‘Torres EVX’, an electric vehicle integrated with authentic SUV characteristics. Through this, they aim to unveil differentiated electric vehicle charging and infrastructure technologies, demonstrating their direction for the application of future mobility technologies.

The displayed vehicles will include: ▲ ‘Torres EVX’ equipped with wireless charging technology ▲ ‘Torres EVX’ emphasizing the benefits of electric recreational SUVs with rooftop tents for enjoying everyday life and outdoor activities ▲ ‘Torres EVX VAN’, which optimizes space utilization for electric vehicles conceptualized as electric vans, showcasing its interior.

The wireless charging technology applied to the ‘Torres EVX’ is based on the magnetic resonance method developed by domestic company Witz and the global wireless charging firm WiTricity, which drastically improves the inconvenience of charging electric vehicles by eliminating the need for wired chargers and separate spaces.

In addition, KGM will offer tailored vehicle purchase consultations for customers visiting the exhibition hall.

A KGM representative stated, “KGM plans to develop technologies that can respond to the rapid changes in the mobility paradigm based on our unique SUV expertise and high-quality, future-oriented technology. We will continue to take the lead in the production of innovative products featuring groundbreaking technologies and to maintain a high level of technological competitiveness.”
