Mercedes-Benz Launches ‘Green Plus Zones’ for Earth Day

‘Green Plus Zone Installed at the Mercedes-Benz Showroom’

On April 22, in celebration of Earth Day, the Mercedes-Benz Social Responsibility Committee announced the installation of ‘Green Plus Zones’ at their dealer locations, participating in the global lights-off campaign and hosting employee events.

The ‘Green Plus Zones’ set up at eleven official dealers’ main showrooms and service centers aim to showcase the various activities Mercedes-Benz and its dealers are undertaking to reduce carbon emissions, while improving public awareness of carbon neutrality and encouraging customer participation.

Currently, ‘Green Plus Zones’ have been established in nine showrooms including the Seoul Gangnam showroom and the Seoul Seongdong service center, with expansions planned for showrooms in Dongdaemun and Jeju later this year.

Additionally, they will participate in the ‘Earth Hour 2024’ campaign, which they have been part of since 2021. From 8 PM to 9 PM on the 22nd, all lights will be turned off in Mercedes-Benz Korea’s offices located in Seoul Square and every official dealer’s office across the country as a gesture towards environmental conservation.

Moreover, training sessions will be conducted for employees to become ‘Green Plus Kids Ambassadors’. Employees who have completed the ‘Green Plus Kids Education Program’, designated as an excellent educational program by the Ministry of Environment in October 2023, will assist in shaping their children’s values and practical habits regarding carbon neutrality at home.

Alongside this, an event called ‘Congratulations, Earth!’ will take place throughout April on the official Instagram channel of the Mercedes-Benz Social Responsibility Committee (@mercedes_benz_promise). Participants will have a chance to win Green Plus upcycled keychains through a draw, with the event being also available for viewing at the ‘Green Plus Zones’ in showrooms and service centers nationwide.

Since its launch in September 2021, the Mercedes-Benz Social Responsibility Committee has planted 15,520 trees, supported urban forest creation in four damaged or neglected green spaces in Seoul, and undertaken restoration efforts in areas affected by large wildfires in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gangneung City, Gangwon-do. Furthermore, they have actively conducted various environmental conservation activities, including environmental education for children and employee plogging events, with more than 1,570 participants since 2021.
