Renault Korea Supports Youth Employment with New Arkana E-Tech Hybrid Initiative

‘Renault New Arkana E-TECH Hybrid’

Renault Korea announced on the 22nd that it will provide the New Renault Arkana E-Tech Hybrid as part of the Busan Youth Joy Car Support Project, aimed at helping young employees of small and medium enterprises in transportation-vulnerable areas of Busan.

The 2024 Busan Youth Joy Car Support Project aims to alleviate commuting difficulties for young workers in small and medium-sized enterprises located in industrial complexes in Busan’s Gangseo-gu and Gijang-gun, where public transportation infrastructure such as urban rail lines is insufficient. The initiative will support vehicles and monthly rental fees for a maximum of 2 years.

The project will support a total of 150 individuals, and applications can be submitted through the Busan Job Information Network website until May 31. Eligible participants are young residents of Busan, aged between 21 and 39, who are newly employed in small or medium-sized enterprises located in Gangseo-gu and Gijang-gun within the last two years. Selected beneficiaries will receive a monthly support fund of 200,000 won from the city for two years, while their own financial contribution will be 330,000 won if aged 26 or older, and 380,000 won if under 26.

Renault Korea has been supporting this initiative with vehicles from 2018 to 2021 when it first launched, and it continues this year by providing the latest hybrid vehicle, the New Renault Arkana E-Tech Hybrid, to contribute to the development of the local community.

The New Renault Arkana E-Tech Hybrid provided to young people in Busan features a satin chrome logotype and global model name, and is a newly launched coupe-style SUV. With its unique direct-parallel hybrid system, which has acquired over 200 patents, it delivers an excellent balance of fuel economy and dynamic driving performance. In urban driving conditions at speeds below 50 km/h, up to 75% of the travel distance can be driven solely in electric vehicle mode.

The New Renault Arkana also introduces the ‘QRescue’ code, helping to quickly and safely rescue passengers in the event of an accident, making it the first to be implemented in South Korea. The openR link 9.3” navigation system, which provides real-time TMAP information, also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections, in-car payment capabilities that allow ordering, payment, and pickup of products from within the vehicle, and a safety support call service that connects to a dedicated call center in emergency situations.

Meanwhile, Renault Korea continues its efforts for regional development and employment of local talent, having signed a public-private-academic memorandum of understanding with Busan City and local agencies to establish a future vehicle industry ecosystem, as well as an investment memorandum of understanding regarding future vehicle production facilities last month.
