The stars that brightened Polestar’s evening were the Polestar Phone and Polestar 4.

Polestar held its brand night on the 23rd at its studio in Shougang Park, Beijing, China. At the entrance of the venue, four Polestar 4 cars stood in a row to greet visitors, while the brand logo of ‘Polestar’ illuminated the dark Beijing evening.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath emphasized, “Polestar has interpreted sustainable luxury in a modern way through a Scandinavian aesthetic lens, creating new performance based on motorsport heritage and experience in tuning sports cars.” After his speech, the hidden models from Polestar 1 to Polestar 4 were revealed.

First up was the Polestar 1, a hybrid model with 600 horsepower limited to 1,500 units over 3 years, which has become the foundation of today’s Polestar. Next is the Polestar 2, launched in Korea in 2022, now familiar to local consumers. It is a core model of Polestar’s comprehensive all-electric strategy, boasting a cumulative global sales of 4,500 units. The Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, which have not yet launched in Korea, also made their debut.

Attention focused on the ‘Polestar 4’, set to launch before the Polestar 3. The Polestar 4 is an electric coupe SUV with a wheelbase of 2,999 mm, providing ample knee room for second-row passengers. With a notably low center tunnel, even sitting in the middle of the second row provides sufficient headroom.

The Polestar 4 features no rear window; instead, a camera replaces the rearview mirror for back visibility. The lack of a rear window allows for comfortable seating in the second row, with the seats reclined to support passenger comfort.

The crowning moment of the day was the Polestar Phone, a smartphone created by Polestar. It is rare for an automotive brand to venture into smartphone production. The Polestar Phone features a metal finish design, with the emblem engraved alongside.

During his presentation, CEO Thomas remarked, “The software of Polestar vehicles is intrinsically linked, down to the same fonts and icons used in the cars.” In a connected world, Polestar is now entering the smartphone market, emphasizing that cars and phones are inseparable and interconnected.

The Polestar Phone is currently revealed only in China, with no plans for a domestic launch at this moment. It will be interesting to see how the ‘Polestar Phone’, which connects the automotive and smartphone worlds, will influence movements among other manufacturers.
