Han Sung Motor, the official dealer of Mercedes-Benz, announced on the 6th that it has donated a piece of art created in collaboration with Dream Art scholarship students and artist Baek Jun-seong to Ewha Medical Center. The donation aims to convey messages of dreams and hope to patients who are undergoing difficult times due to illness, wishing for their healthy return to daily life.
Last year, Han Sung Motor collaborated with world-renowned lenticular artist Baek Jun-seong as part of the ‘2023 New Dream Art’ talent donation project. Dream Art scholarship students expressed their dreams and aspirations, unrelated to size or reality, through their works under the theme ‘One protagonist, one stage’ during two mentoring sessions with Baek Jun-seong.
The artistic results of this collaboration were showcased at the exhibition ‘Hidden Stage’ held at the Hangaram Art Museum of the Seoul Arts Center in November last year.
The piece donated to Ewha Medical Center is titled ‘on the stage-hidden stage_Play in Some Town,’ which was one of the works featured in ‘Hidden Stage.’ It embodies the idea of capturing the dreams, daily lives, and aspirations of ordinary people, elevating them to the stage as protagonists through the performance technique of ‘spotlight.’
Receiving the donation, Vice President and Director of Ewha Womans University Medical Center Yu Kyung-ha expressed gratitude, saying, “I hope this wonderful piece, which embodies the image of dreams and aspirations coming true, provides hope and healing to the patients.”
This year marks the 13th year of Han Sung Motor’s Dream Art scholarship project, which consistently engages in art donation activities to give back to society and convey messages of dreams and hope. Starting with Kyunghee Medical Center in 2017, they have continuously sent messages of encouragement and hope through art to patients at various institutions including Gangnam-gu Happiness Nursing Home in 2018, Yongin Severance Hospital in 2020, and Seoul Children’s Hospital in 2021.
