LG Unveils the Exciting 2024 OLED and QNED TVs: A Leap in AI & Picture Quality

‘LG OLED Evo’

LG Electronics is officially launching the 2024 LG OLED TV and LG QNED TV in the domestic market starting today.

From the 13th, LG Electronics will sell the 2024 LG OLED Evo and QNED Evo, among other new LG TV models, on their website (LGE.COM). Starting on the 20th, customers can also see these models at offline stores like LG Best Shop.

This year, LG will operate the most extensive lineup in the industry for LG OLED TVs, including the ▲sharp picture quality OLED Evo (series names: M4/G4/C4) ▲standard OLED TV (B4) ▲lifestyle OLED TVs, such as Posé and Flex. The wireless OLED TV (M4) lineup has been expanded from last year’s sizes of 97/83/77 inches to include a 65 inch model this year.

For LG QNED TVs, a 98-inch model has been added to reflect the desires of customers looking for ultra-large premium LCD TVs, showcasing a full range of QNED TVs from medium to extra-large sizes (43/50/55/65/75/86/98 inches).

At the heart of LG’s TV innovations this year is a new processor that significantly enhances AI performance. This upgraded CPU and GPU provide clearer picture quality and richer spatial audio through powerful AI deep learning capabilities.

The Alpha 11 processor applied in the LG OLED Evo (M4/G4 series) has AI capabilities that are four times stronger than the previous Alpha 9, with graphics performance improved by 70% and processing speed by 30%. It analyzes pixel-level detail within frames to upscale picture quality. The feature of real-time upscaling for OTT content like Netflix and Apple TV+ is a first for LG TVs.

The Alpha 11 converts two-channel audio into a virtual 11.1.2 channel output. With two additional channels for ambient sound compared to the Alpha 9, it provides a more immersive spatial audio experience. New features have also been introduced to enhance the clarity of dialogues covered by background noise.

The 2024 LG QNED Evo (QNED91/90) applies an Alpha 8 processor that is 1.3 times stronger than the Alpha 7, achieving clear picture quality and rich 9.1.2 surround sound. With Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies combined with mini LED backlighting, it excels in color and contrast ratio expression.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the smart TV platform ‘webOS’, it now offers more personalized experiences based on AI. By speaking to the remote, “Please log into my account,” the AI will recognize the voice and log in easily, configuring the home screen with the set picture quality mode and frequently used content.

When setting the picture mode, users simply need to choose their preferred image from options provided, and the AI will analyze it to change the picture to match their taste among approximately 85 million modes.

To allow customers to experience the evolving new features of webOS annually, LG Electronics operates a ‘webOS Renewal Program’ that offers webOS upgrades for five years. The 2024 LG OLED TV and QNED TV will receive webOS upgrades until 2028.

After launching in South Korea, LG Electronics will sequentially release the 2024 LG TVs in about 150 countries globally, including North America (end of March) and Europe (early April). Global media outlets are already praising the new products ahead of their launch.

US media Tom’s Guide has named the LG OLED Evo G4 as one of the ‘Most Exciting TVs of 2024’, stating, “The Alpha 11 processor represents a new technological leap and demonstrates superior brightness with AI picture correction features compared to competitors.”

The G4 received praise from British outlet TechRadar as a follow-up to last year’s best OLED TV, the G3, highlighting its excellent brightness, gaming features, and luxurious design.

British media WePC lauded the LG OLED Evo G4 and M4, stating, “There is no doubt that both products are the best OLED TVs at this time.”

Meanwhile, customers who purchase LG TV new products on the website (LGE.COM) by the 19th of this month can enjoy various benefits, including ▲up to 2 million won cashback ▲additional discount coupons of up to 2 million won ▲StandbyMe and StandbyMe Go gifts (when purchasing the 97-inch OLED G4 model) ▲1-year subscription to OTT service Tving ▲up to 500,000 membership points (when submitting photo reviews).
