ParkingCloud Leads the Charge: Expanding EV Charging Infrastructure Across South Korea

ParkingCloud, the leading parking platform company in South Korea and a subsidiary of SK E&S, has been selected as a ‘Supporting Organization for Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities’ and is set to embark on building an extensive charging infrastructure and expanding energy solution services.

On the 25th, ParkingCloud announced that it has been selected as a supporting organization for the 2024 Electric Vehicle Fast and Slow Charging Facilities Assistance Project by the Ministry of Environment.

The assistance project, organized by the Ministry of Environment, provides subsidies for the installation of public electric vehicle charging facilities in multi-unit housing, business sites, and large-scale parking lots.

Organizations are selected based on comprehensive evaluations of various criteria, including operational status, charging station specifications, business implementation plans, and management capabilities. ParkingCloud was recognized for its technological prowess and operational capabilities by being selected as a performing organization in both fast and slow charging categories in this call for applications.

ParkingCloud operates a network of over 7,000 directly managed and affiliated parking lots and runs the electric vehicle charging brand ‘iParkingEV.’ Through the integrated application (app) iParking, users can find charging stations, charge without a card, check charging status, and make payments, offering a differentiated ‘one-stop solution’ for charging and parking.

Additionally, ParkingCloud operates an integrated center 24/7, supporting the management and maintenance of charging facilities, and implements fire accident prevention equipment and insurance policies at all charging stations to enhance safety.

Moving forward, ParkingCloud plans to analyze in-and-out data from all iParking parking lots to prioritize the installation of charging stations in areas with high pedestrian traffic and electric vehicle entries. By the end of this year, they aim to launch the ‘Park & Charge’ service, simplifying the charging verification process using AI LPR (License Plate Recognition) technology, further expanding their infrastructure.

ParkingCloud stated, “By providing stable electric vehicle charging services 24/7, we aim to enhance customer convenience and strive to make iParkingEV a trusted brand for electric vehicle customers.” Inquiries regarding ParkingCloud’s charging station installations can be made through the iParkingEV customer center (1533-5783) or on their website (www.iparkingev.co.kr).
