BYD has become the first in the world to reach the milestone of producing 7 million eco-friendly vehicles.
On March 25, BYD unveiled its 7 millionth eco-friendly vehicle, the Denza N7, at its Jinan factory in China. The production achievement of 7 million eco-friendly vehicles symbolizes BYD’s remarkable growth as a significant milestone.
Having achieved the production of its 1 millionth eco-friendly vehicle in May 2021, BYD quickly reached the 3 million mark just 18 months later, then surpassed the 5 million mark again within just 9 months. Now, only 7 months later, it has set a new record by crossing the 7 million production threshold, showcasing its robust supply chain and economies of scale.
Diverse models under an extensive brand portfolio are driving sales across various categories, resulting in a staggering increase in BYD’s annual cumulative eco-friendly vehicle sales to 3.02 million units in 2023, solidifying its status as a global leader in the eco-friendly vehicle market.
BYD has actively expanded its global presence, achieving a remarkable 337% growth in overseas sales of eco-friendly passenger cars in 2023 compared to the same period last year, increasing to over 240,000 units, making it China’s largest exporter of eco-friendly vehicles.
BYD’s eco-friendly passenger vehicles are now operating in 64 countries and regions worldwide, which includes strategic investments in manufacturing facilities in countries such as Thailand, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Hungary. Additionally, BYD plans to showcase its eco-friendly vehicles on the international stage as an official partner of the ‘UEFA European Football Championship 2024’.
BYD plans to expand and deepen its localization strategy for its products, technologies, and brands in the global market while continuing efforts to contribute to a more sustainable automotive industry worldwide.
