GMC has begun sales of the 2024 Sierra, featuring an upgraded product offering and a new color.
Yoon Myung-ok, Senior Vice President and Head of Communications and Marketing at GM Korea, stated, “The Sierra, as GMC’s flagship model, is a significant model that is pioneering the full-size pickup truck market in South Korea. With this model year change, its product value has been significantly enhanced. The 2024 Sierra, with new colors and options, offers the best performance characteristic of an authentic American pickup truck, optimized for a premium outdoor lifestyle. I am confident it will receive overwhelming support from outdoor enthusiasts across the country this year as well.”
The 2024 Sierra will come equipped with new features and options. First, all trims will now include an ‘Active Variable Exhaust System.’ This system allows drivers to experience differentiated exhaust sounds according to the driving mode. When selecting ‘Sport’ or ‘Off-Road’ modes, the exhaust valves fully open, letting drivers savor the robust exhaust sound of the V8 engine.
In response to customer feedback seeking a tougher exhaust sound suited to the pickup’s innate image, the new Active Variable Exhaust System enhances the premium ride experience along with a dynamic exhaust sound produced by the large engine, making its presence felt more intensely than previous models.
The smartphone wireless charging system option has also changed. Previously, the wireless charging system in the GMC Sierra was an optional feature, but in the 2024 model, it has become standard, enhancing product value by allowing passengers to use the wireless charging system without additional costs.
The 2024 Sierra also introduces new body colors alongside changes in interior color options. The body color will now feature the new Indigo Blue instead of the previous Pacific Blue, alongside Avalon White Pearl, Tuxedo Black, and Rush Gray, offering a diverse spectrum of choices.
The application of interior colors by trim has also changed. The Denali trim retains the Jet Black interior, while the Denali-X Special Edition, prepared in commemoration of domestic sales, now comes with a standard Brownstone interior, which was previously an option, enhancing its premium feel.
The powerful driving performance, felt only in American full-size pickup trucks, continues to excite drivers. The GMC Sierra is equipped with a 6.2L V8 direct injection gasoline engine, delivering explosive performance with a maximum output of 426 horsepower and a peak torque of 63.6 kg·m, coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and GM’s proprietary Dynamic Fuel Management system to enhance fuel efficiency.
Moreover, GM’s all-wheel-drive technology, the Autotrac Active 4×4 system, alongside various drive modes, allows for exceptional driving performance on both on-road and off-road conditions. Essential features for escaping rough terrains include a differential lock and 22-inch alloy wheels, while real-time damping adaptive suspension, heavy-duty engine air filters, and heavy-duty exterior coolers ensure top performance even in extreme situations.
True to its roots as a full-size pickup truck from America, the Sierra boasts overwhelming dimensions of 5,890mm in length, 2,065mm in width, and 1,950mm in height. This provides ample interior space for second-row passengers and the capability to carry two motorcycles thanks to its vast cargo bed. Notably, the cargo bed includes GM’s exclusive 6-function MultiPro tailgate, which offers versatility with six different configurations according to user needs, optimizing space utilization and convenience.
A standout feature is its impressive trailering performance, a hallmark of American pickup trucks. With an outstanding towing capacity of up to 3,945kg, it can tow even large caravans, supported by a Stabilitrak stability control system that includes sway control functionality and an integrated trailer brake system that adjusts brake pressure based on trailer load, ensuring a stable trailering environment in all circumstances.
The pricing for the 2024 GMC Sierra starts at 93.8 million won for the Denali trim, while the Denali-X Special Edition is priced at 95.5 million won. Customers can purchase the vehicle from February 8 via the GMC website.
