The All-New Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe: A Masterpiece of Design and Performance

Mercedes-Benz Korea has unveiled the next-generation dream car, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, and has officially started sales in South Korea.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe is a model that harmoniously combines the concepts and technological innovations from the C-Class and E-Class, boasting elegant yet confident design, sporty driving performance, and cutting-edge digital specifications, making it a standout two-door model.

In South Korea, the lineup comprises two models: the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE 200 Coupe and the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, with the CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe set to be delivered this month while the CLE 200 Coupe will be delivered in March.

Additionally, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet and the high-performance all-new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet are expected to launch within the year.

Killian Tellen, vice president of the product, marketing, and digital business division at Mercedes-Benz Korea, stated, “The newly introduced all-new CLE Coupe stands as a next-generation dream car that inherits the highest standards of quality and heritage from Mercedes-Benz,” adding, “It will be an irreplaceable option that satisfies customers who seek an extraordinary presence and sporty sensations across various aspects including design and driving performance.”

Blending the unique proportions of a two-door coupe with a modern design language, the exterior of the all-new CLE Coupe emphasizes ▲ a shark-nose shaped long hood with two power domes at the front, ▲ sporty proportions and strong character lines completed by a long body and wheelbase, low height, and short overhangs, highlighted further at the sides, and ▲ iconic dynamic design underscored by LED rear lights emphasizing the width of the rear.

Moreover, the all-new CLE Coupe features a wheelbase that is now 25mm longer (2,865mm) compared to the previous C-Class Coupe, offering spacious interiors, while the trunk has a generous capacity of 420L sufficient to carry three golf bags.

The interior also comes equipped with exclusive design specifications and sound systems to enhance sporty feelings and driving fun. It features newly developed sports seats with an integrated headrest specifically created for the all-new CLE Coupe.

The all-new CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, which comes with the standard Burmester® 3D surround sound system, includes a total of 17 speakers, featuring two built into the edges of the front seatbacks, delivering an immersive sound experience alongside a Dolby Atmos sound system.

Additionally, the entire lineup is equipped with the latest generation MBUX infotainment system, offering high-level personalization and digital experience. The routine feature allows drivers to automate frequently used comfort functions based on specific conditions like date, time, location, inner/outer temperatures, and vehicle speed.

Various entertainment platforms, video conferencing tools, and games like YouTube, Apple Music, WebEx, Zoom, Angry Birds, and TikTok will be accessible, as well as domestic streaming services like Essential, FLO, Wavve, and Melon. Starting this second half of the year, a vehicle-optimized navigation system called T-map Auto will also be introduced in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

All models of the all-new CLE Coupe come with a gasoline engine and a 48V onboard electric system featuring a mild hybrid system that delivers powerful yet efficient driving performance. The entire lineup has received low-emission vehicle certification, entitling them to benefits such as discounts on congestion charges and public parking fees.

The all-new CLE 200 Coupe is powered by a 4-cylinder inline gasoline engine (M254). The all-new CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe features an inline-6 gasoline engine (M256) that delivers a maximum output of 381 horsepower and maximum torque of 51 kg.m. The mild hybrid system with the 48V onboard electric system provides an extra boost of up to 17kW via a second-generation integrated starter generator when starting, aiding in smooth and swift engine ignition, gliding, boosting, and regenerative braking. Additionally, the entire lineup is fitted with a 9-speed transmission developed in line with ISG, optimizing performance with the engine.

The all-new CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe model includes an engineering package featuring dynamic body control suspension that continuously adjusts damping for the front and rear axles, along with rear axle steering that supports a maximum of 2.5° of rear steering angle, ensuring quick yet comfortable driving experiences.

Furthermore, standard features across the lineup include ▲ an advanced driving assistance system called Driving Assistance Package Plus that enhances safe and convenient driving, ▲ digital lights optimizing headlamp brightness based on road lighting conditions, traffic situations, driving paths, and weather, and ▲ updated Mercedes-Benz Attention Assist, a drowsy driving warning system, along with other driving assistance and safety specifications. Convenience features include ▲ Easy-Entry function aiding rear seat access, ▲ MBUX augmented reality navigation showcasing virtual driving guide lines based on images captured by the front camera for more intuitive guidance, ▲ a panoramic sunroof offering spaciousness, ▲ a parking package inclusive of a 360° camera, and a Winter Package featuring heated steering wheels and a heated windshield washer system among other amenities.

The all-new CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe also comes standard with ▲ an MBUX interior assistant recognizing driver and passenger gestures and gaze to adjust vehicle functions, ▲ an Energizing Package Plus supporting optimal driving environments, and ▲ an Air Balance Package enhancing indoor driving comfort.

The domestic launch price for the all-new CLE Coupe is 72.7 million won for the new CLE 200 Coupe and 96.9 million won for the new CLE 450 4MATIC Coupe.
