Kia Launches ‘EV Festival’ with Attractive Discounts for Electric Vehicles

Kia announced on the 22nd (Thursday) that it will hold the ‘EV Festival’ to provide additional benefits for certain electric vehicle models to promote the expansion of electric vehicle adoption.

This EV Festival is in line with government policies aimed at expanding electric vehicle subsidies.

Kia is offering manufacturer discounts through the EV Festival including ▲300,000 KRW for the EV6 ▲350,000 KRW for the EV9 ▲100,000 KRW for the Niro EV, and will support up to 700,000 KRW for charging station installation costs for customers purchasing the Bongo EV.

As of the 21st (Wednesday), when purchasing a vehicle through the EV Festival in the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province where local government subsidies have been confirmed, the actual purchase prices after tax benefits will drop to: ▲EV6 Long Range 2WD 19-inch model from 52,600,000 KRW to 38,910,000 KRW ▲EV9 2WD 19-inch model from 73,370,000 KRW to 65,190,000 KRW ▲Niro EV Air Trim from 48,550,000 KRW to 37,980,000 KRW.

This reflects the combination of ▲government subsidy of 6,300,000 KRW ▲local government subsidy in Jeju of 4,000,000 KRW with Kia’s additional benefit of 3,000,000 KRW and an additional government subsidy of 540,000 KRW along with relevant tax effects for the EV6 Long Range 2WD 19-inch model.

The price for the EV9 2WD 19-inch model is calculated by reflecting the ▲government subsidy of 3,010,000 KRW ▲local government subsidy in Jeju of 1,850,000 KRW plus Kia’s benefit of 3,500,000 KRW and related tax effects.

The pricing for the Niro EV Air Trim includes ▲government subsidy of 5,810,000 KRW ▲local government subsidy in Jeju of 3,660,000 KRW plus Kia’s benefit of 1,000,000 KRW and an additional government subsidy of 150,000 KRW, aggregating relevant tax effects.

The status of local government subsidies in other regions can be checked on the integrated website for green vehicles.

Small businesses or members of agricultural, livestock, fisheries cooperatives, and forest cooperatives purchasing the Bongo EV will be offered either a 700,000 KRW discount on charging station installation or a 300,000 KRW discount on vehicle price if a charging station is not installed.

Additionally, Kia is operating a special purchase installment service called ‘E-Life Support’ to ease the burden of vehicle purchases, which offers a maximum deferment rate of 60% based on 36 months and 45% based on 48 months when 10% or more (including subsidies) of the purchase price is paid using a Hyundai M series card.

Customers purchasing a Kia new vehicle under the same personal name within three years after buying a new vehicle can reduce the burden of deferment payment by getting up to 60% back on the new car price (including VAT on the receipt) when selling their previous vehicle as a used car.

Furthermore, Kia offers ▲100,000 points for a single purchase ▲200,000 points for two purchases ▲300,000 points for three purchases and ▲400,000 points for four or more purchases in Kia Membership points to individuals and sole proprietors purchasing new Kia vehicles, and additionally provides 300,000 EV care points when purchasing the EV6 and 450,000 EV care points when purchasing the EV9.

Kia Membership points and EV care points can be used for new vehicle purchase, vehicle maintenance, and vehicle charging.

A Kia representative stated, “We have prepared special benefits linked with government policies to encourage the spread of electric vehicles,” promising that they will continue to respond to customer support and love with various benefits in the future.
