Renault Korea Partners with Naver Cloud and DreamAce to Build Innovative Automotive Web Platform

On the 22nd, Renault Korea signed a business agreement with Naver Cloud and DreamAce for the construction of an automotive web platform at Renault Technology Korea in Yongin.

Through this agreement, Renault Korea, Naver Cloud, and DreamAce promised mutual cooperation and close collaboration to build a new mobility web service ecosystem, optimizing the development of web platforms for automobiles, enhancing web applications (App), and increasing content.

The automotive web platform that the three companies will build together is designed to provide customized web services suitable for in-car use, which will be applied to future Renault Korea vehicles, including the Aurora project. Additionally, the three companies plan to provide Renault Korea’s specialized app services and content to enable the optimal use of online video services, music, and social media within the vehicle.

Through this business agreement, the trio will also carry out marketing promotions targeting customers, including advertisements, to secure competitive content tailored for Renault Korea’s new vehicles, such as the Aurora project. They have also agreed to cooperate in discovering new markets and expanding into the global market using the new infotainment services.

Kim Hyo, leader of Naver Cloud, stated, “The web platform is characterized by high compatibility and versatility, enabling the provision of various customized services easily and reliably without device constraints.” He added, “To create innovative mobility experiences, we plan to continuously enhance Naver Cloud’s web platform capabilities while conceptualizing various web-based services together with Renault Korea and DreamAce.”

Lee Se-yeon, CTO of DreamAce, expressed happiness saying, “I am pleased that through this partnership with Renault Korea and Naver Cloud, we can achieve the development and commercialization of next-generation in-vehicle infotainment systems based on the excellent capabilities of each company.” He emphasized that DreamAce will move faster to secure competitiveness in the rapidly accelerating software-defined vehicle (SDV) market and continually enhance in-car experiences.

Choi Sung-kyu, head of the research center at Renault Korea, remarked, “This agreement allows Renault Korea, Naver Cloud, and DreamAce to actively accept and develop the evolution and changes of services demanded by the automotive market.” He added, “Renault Korea will continue to make efforts so that customers can enjoy diverse mobility experiences unique to Renault Korea that cannot be found with other companies.”

Meanwhile, Renault Korea signed a business agreement with Tmap Mobility last November, announcing plans to integrate ‘TMAP infotainment’ in the upcoming Aurora vehicle set to launch in the second half of this year, alongside cooperation for developing third-party apps and new content. Recently, they have also focused on software-centric vehicle development by hiring Regis Brignon, a former head of Valeo’s research lab and an expert in software and electrical/electronic systems, as the head of system engineering operations.
