Michelin Korea announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Motor regarding the supply of tires for Genesis Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.
On the 29th, key executives, including Jerome Bensong, CEO of Michelin Korea, and Hong Jong-ho, Senior Vice President of Hyundai Motor’s Domestic CPO Business Division, attended the signing ceremony at Hyundai’s Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Commercialization Center located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. They agreed to establish a tire supply cooperation system to provide high-quality certified pre-owned vehicles.
With this agreement, Hyundai Motor will receive Michelin’s main tire products when tire replacements are necessary during the commercialization process of Genesis Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. For premium sedans and SUVs, Michelin’s luxury touring all-season tire ‘Michelin Primacy Tour A/S’ will be supplied, while high-performance tires from the ‘Michelin Pilot Sport’ series will be fitted on sports sedans. Additionally, Michelin tires will also be supplied for some Hyundai brand vehicles.
In particular, Michelin plans to supply the same original equipment tires installed in the current lineup of Genesis vehicles to ensure a premium consumer experience for Genesis Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.
Jerome Bensong, CEO of Michelin Korea, stated, “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide Michelin premium tires to Genesis Certified Pre-Owned customers through this agreement. Through close cooperation between our two companies, we will actively support Genesis Certified Pre-Owned vehicle buyers in enjoying the highest quality and driving experience with Michelin tires.”
Hong Jong-ho, Senior Vice President of Hyundai Motor’s Domestic CPO Business Division, remarked, “The purpose of this partnership is to supply customers with vehicles in the best condition in line with the direction of the Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Business. If tire replacements are needed during the commercialization of the premium brand Genesis, we will provide Michelin tires and equip them with new tires to maximize customer satisfaction.”
