Lotte Rent-A-Car Unveils Customized Long-Term Rental Options for 2024

Lotte Rent-A-Car is presenting tailored long-term rental options to celebrate the New Year of Gapjin in 2024.

For individuals and sole proprietors, they recommend new eco-friendly Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) under the My Car program, while offering ESG-oriented eco-friendly cars with a variety of premium membership services under the Biz Car program for corporate clients.

The preference for SUVs among individual customers has been distinctly rising since last year. The Carnival has consistently been among the Top 3 newly chosen long-term rentals for individual clients and is expected to maintain its popularity in 2024, especially with the recent partial modification and hybrid model launch. In fact, the Carnival accounted for 14.3% of all My Car quotes at Lotte Rent-A-Car in December, ranking first, having risen from fourth place the previous month. The newly launched Carnival Hybrid boasts an impressive fuel efficiency of 13.5 km/l, making it ideal for large families and camping enthusiasts. Customers can enjoy new car rentals starting at around 360,000 won per month with a 48-month My Car contract.

Following the Carnival, the Sorento and Santa Fe also made the Top 5 My Car quote rankings in December, showing a total of 3 SUV models. The Sorento secured fourth place with 9.1% of the overall quotes, while the Santa Fe placed fifth with 8.1%, and both can be rented starting at around 410,000 won per month with a 48-month contract.

As of January 1, 2024, corporate vehicles valued over 80 million won used for business purposes will bear green license plates. Consequently, there is an expected significant shift toward long-term rentals for large vehicles primarily offered to corporate executives, accompanied by various management and convenience services. Long-term rentals simplify vehicle management and accident handling, as the rental car company takes full responsibility. Additionally, there are no extra costs like insurance surcharges that could affect the corporate loan limit during the contract period, which is a major advantage.

Last year, the most frequently chosen Biz Car by domestic corporations was the Grandeur, followed by the G80 and K8, which filled the Top 3 spots for Lotte Rent-A-Car’s Biz Car. The government and public corporations showed a high preference for eco-friendly vehicles, ranking the EV6 and Ioniq 6 first and second, respectively.

When signing new contracts for large cars such as the Genesis G90, G80, GV80, and Kia K9 under the Lotte Rent-A-Car Biz Car program, clients can receive premium membership benefits valued at up to 3 million won, including 24-hour free rental vouchers and green fees for four at Lotte Skyhill CC in Jeju.

Last November, Lotte Rent-A-Car completely revamped its service brand for long-term rentals, naming individual long-term rental services as ‘Lotte Rent-A-Car My Car’ and corporate long-term rental services as ‘Lotte Rent-A-Car Biz Car’, with plans to enhance customer benefits and customized services in 2024.

The My Car products include free on-site vehicle maintenance services, as well as a three-tiered membership service. Furthermore, the ‘Safety 365’ service, leveraging IoT for real-time vehicle diagnostics, ensures customer safety. The Biz Car service also offers extensive additional services including on-site maintenance, a business vehicle management solution called ‘Connect Pro’, and personalized consultations with specialists.

A representative from Lotte Rental stated, “This year, we anticipate growth in the personal long-term rental market centered around upgraded performance eco-friendly cars and SUVs, while corporate clients will significantly increase their demand for Biz Car due to the changed license plate regulations. Lotte Rental aims to enhance customer convenience and satisfaction by providing tailored services that reflect the needs of our users, supported by our full-line vehicle capabilities.”
