Unleashing Adventure: The All-New 2024 Jeep Wrangler Makes Its Debut in Korea

On January 3rd, Jeep officially launched the all-new 2024 Wrangler in its exclusive showroom in Songpa, fulfilling the yearning for freedom and adventure for everyone.

The ‘Wrangler’ is not only a living history of the Jeep brand but also an iconic model that has set the standard for SUVs. With legendary 4×4 driving performance, it has been a favorite among off-road enthusiasts for many years, maintaining its reputation as the “strongest SUV on the planet.” Now, after six years since its global unveiling in 2017, the all-new Wrangler has undergone a facelift, featuring a refreshed design and enhanced convenience and safety features, aiming for a modern transformation. Jeep plans to actively target a lifestyle that freely traverses the realms of daily life and adventure with its on- and off-road driving performance and the unique Wrangler spirit.

Stellantis Korea President Jake Auman stated, “The all-new 2024 Wrangler returns with eye-catching iconic exterior, functional interior features favored by domestic customers like TMAP navigation, and Jeep’s legendary 4×4 system that can tackle any road, marking an evolution to a whole new level compared to its predecessor. I am confident that the all-new Wrangler will be a reliable partner for those who always have a spirit of adventure in their hearts, with its unique sense of freedom and unparalleled driving capabilities.”

The exterior of the all-new Wrangler harmonizes tradition and future, reflecting the next-generation design direction based on the ‘off-road DNA’ heritage built over 37 years since the first generation launched in 1986. Features like a unique silhouette recognizable from a distance, removable top and doors, and foldable windshield present the distinctive value that only a Wrangler can offer.

Notable features include the more assertive seven-slot grille and LED headlamps that showcase the iconic off-roader SUV’s presence. The seven-slot grille, which symbolizes Jeep, has grown larger while the grille itself has taken on a compact design, emphasizing a slimmer appearance. The vertical slots applied enhance the cooling efficiency of the grille and optimize performance while increasing the durability of the vehicle. The new LED headlamps with surrounding ring lights highlight the Wrangler’s circular headlamp design and include six daytime running lights (DRL) to ensure driving safety.

For the first time in this model, a stealth antenna integrated into the windshield has replaced the steel antenna, maintaining the Wrangler’s neat exterior while protecting it from obstacles like branches during off-road driving.

Additionally, four basic wheel designs ranging from 17 to 18 inches are offered, along with options for a black or body-colored hardtop and a Sky One-Touch Power Top, providing a vastly different sense of openness. The exterior colors have also expanded to offer ten eye-catching options (availability may vary by trim) including the new Anvil color and previously used colors such as Earl, High Velocity, and Sarge Green from the limited edition models.

The all-new Wrangler features the latest technology to enhance driving convenience for the driver. It is equipped with the largest 12.3-inch touchscreen in Wrangler history, and the dashboard has been redesigned to accommodate the new touchscreen, featuring a simple design to better showcase the display.

Connectivity for the touchscreen display has also significantly improved with the inclusion of the Uconnect 5 system, which is five times faster than the previous generation. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing two Bluetooth devices to connect simultaneously, and integrates TMAP navigation preferred by local consumers for enhanced functionality.

Standard features include heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, and for the first time, powered seats for both the driver and passenger sides. The Sahara trim opts for premium McKinley seats, while the Rubicon trim features Napa leather bucket seats for a more comfortable driving experience.

Details for off-road driving are essential as well. Grabs handles are placed beside the front seats to ensure passengers can safely hold on during adventures, allowing for door removal while driving. The glove box and locking center console storage ensure that belongings are securely stored even when the roof is removed. Furthermore, detachable carpets and a uni-directional floor drain valve make it easy to clean the interior after a full day of driving on muddy paths.

The all-new Wrangler is powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine that delivers strong performance with a maximum output of 272 horsepower (@5,250rpm) and maximum torque of 40.8kg·m (@3,000rpm). Additionally, the engine stop & start system (ESS) is standard across all trims. The vehicle features an 8-speed automatic transmission along with low-range gearing, making it suitable for both daily driving and off-road adventures.

The 4×4 system includes either the 2.72:1 Select-Track full-time 4WD system or the 4:1 Rock-Track HD full-time 4WD system depending on the trim, supporting various driving environments like snow, mud, and sand through the Select-Terrain system. True to Jeep’s off-road capability, the model includes an electronic stability control (ESC) system with electronic roll mitigation, trailer sway damping, hill start assist (HSA), and Select-Speed control as standard. The Rubicon trim includes Off-Road Plus mode, performance suspension, electronic front and rear differential locks, and an electronic front sway bar disconnect for unmatched off-road driving performance.

The all-new Wrangler incorporates over 65 safety and convenience driving features for comfortable and secure driving on and off-road. Standard features include adaptive cruise control (ACC) with stop-and-go capability, advanced brake assist system, full-speed forward collision warning plus system, side curtain airbags, Keyless Enter ‘n Go smart key system, remote start system, Sentry Key theft deterrent system, LATCH child seat anchor system, and security alarm, significantly boosting safety.

In Korea, the all-new Wrangler will be available in three trims: Sports S, Rubicon, and Sahara. The pricing starts at 69.7 million won for the Sports S, 78.9 million won for the Sahara 4-door hardtop / 82.4 million won for the power top, 76.4 million won for the Rubicon 2-door hardtop, and 80.4 million won for the Rubicon 4-door hardtop / 83.9 million won for the power top.
