MAN Truck & Bus Korea has launched the ‘Carefree Extra’, a new comprehensive vehicle management package to enhance service benefits for customers of the New MAN TG Series.
The ‘Carefree Extra’ is a differentiated version of the ‘Carefree Package’, which was introduced in 2020 as the first integrated maintenance contract and warranty extension program by an imported commercial vehicle brand to help customers effectively reduce their total cost of ownership.
Customers purchasing the New MAN TG Series can freely choose between the existing Carefree Package or the newly launched Carefree Extra when buying their vehicles. Those who opt for Carefree Extra can maintain their vehicles in optimal condition at a more reasonable cost, considering their usual mileage. The New MAN TG Series equipped with the Carefree Extra can receive vehicle inspections and parts replacements according to the vehicle maintenance cycle for two years from the date of vehicle registration.
Carefree Extra is divided into Carefree 3X, 4X, and 5X depending on the vehicle type and warranty period, notably offering significant economic advantages for drivers with high mileage. Engine oil changes, which were previously provided once a year, can now be carried out without limit on the number of exchanges during the exchange cycle under the 4X and 5X packages (while it remains at one exchange per year for the 3X package), potentially reducing the initial purchase cost by up to 7 million won compared to the existing Carefree 3, 4, and 5 packages.
Benefits from the maintenance program and warranty extension will be retained on the vehicle throughout the service period, maintaining benefits during used vehicle transactions, while the warranty period for the powertrain remains the same as the existing Carefree Package.
Meanwhile, the maintenance contract (RMC) known as the Carefree Package was launched as the first of its kind in the domestic imported commercial vehicle industry. It provides differentiated maintenance and inspection services performed by specialized mechanics with expertise comparable to that of the European headquarters, offering various benefits including services like gearbox oil, axle oil, and coolant replacements, as well as free engine oil exchanges. Since its launch in 2020, over 3,200 customers have subscribed, reflecting positive responses.
