Kia Unveils New Leadership for Total Vehicle Development

Yang Hee-won, new president of Hyundai Motor and Kia’s R&D division

Hyundai Motor and Kia have promoted Vice President Yang Hee-won to president of the Total Vehicle Development (TVD) division and appointed him as the newly restructured head of R&D.

The newly appointed President Yang Hee-won is considered an expert with comprehensive skills in vehicle development, thanks to his experience in platform development, design, and as a Project Manager (PM).

The R&D division plans to accelerate Hyundai Motor and Kia’s Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) strategy by collaborating closely with the newly established Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) division like a ‘One team’, and to develop competitive future mobility solutions.

A spokesperson from Hyundai Motor and Kia stated, “This personnel change aims to pursue innovation in future mobility technology while also ensuring organizational stability” and added, “Through the one-team structure in R&D, we will maximize our responsiveness to the global future mobility environment.”
