Lotus Partners with Bosch to Expand EV Charging Infrastructure Across Europe

Lotus has announced a new partnership for its pure electric vehicle customers.

Through a partnership with Bosch and Mobilize Power Solutions, Lotus aims to provide various charging solutions for its hyper SUV, Eletre, customers in Europe. This support will also extend to customers of Lotus’s upcoming hyper GT model, Emeya, which is set to launch in the European market in the second half of this year.

Firstly, Lotus customers will have access to 600,000 public EV charging stations across over 30 European countries, including the UK, Germany, and France, via Bosch’s charging network.

By simply tapping the Lotus charging card, customers can connect to the network, and additional necessary information such as charging history, maintenance costs, and battery status can be easily checked through the Lotus smartphone application.

Furthermore, through collaboration with Mobilize Power Solutions, a charging package for home installation will be offered to customers. Priced at £1,199 (local price, excluding VAT), this package includes a power supply, tethering cable, and installation costs, with tailored services available based on customers’ needs. This service is also compatible with solar panels installed in homes.

This announcement aligns with the ultra-fast charging solutions revealed in December by Lotus, which includes its own 450kW ultra-fast DC charger, power cabinet, and charging unit. Lotus plans to strengthen its charging solutions as it aims to transition to a pure electric vehicle brand by 2028, under its Vision80 strategy.

Mike Johnston, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Lotus, stated, “The lack of charging stations has remained the biggest barrier for customers in the adoption of electric vehicles. Reducing customer burdens and achieving electrification in the automotive sector requires collaborations across various industries like this one.” He also emphasized, “We will do our utmost to make it easier for customers to maintain Lotus’s electrification models through collaboration with Bosch and Mobilize Power Solutions.”

Lotus’s pure electric lineup enhances customer satisfaction through industry-leading technology. Supporting 350kW DC fast charging, both the Lotus Eletre and Emeya can achieve about 120km of driving range with just a 5-minute charge. It only takes 20 minutes for the Eletre and 18 minutes for the Emeya to charge from 10% to 80% battery capacity.

Additionally, the Lotus Hyper OS implemented in the Eletre and Emira assists in easily locating nearby charging stations through its intelligent EV routing feature. This helps alleviate drivers’ anxieties and offers optimal alternative routes based on battery consumption, ensuring the best driving experience.

The Lotus Eletre has started customer deliveries in certain countries since 2023, while the Emeya is expected to begin deliveries in Europe in the second half of this year. In the domestic market, the last internal combustion engine sports car from Lotus, the Emira, and the Eletre will be delivered to customers in the first half and second half of this year, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Kolon Mobility Group, which established Lotus Automotive Korea through an official partnership agreement in May last year, is the only official importer of Lotus in the domestic market and is conducting exclusive distribution. Based on Kolon Mobility Group’s long history and expertise in premium automotive distribution, it is leading the comprehensive mobility business through restructuring and expansion and has launched a new brand, ‘702,’ encompassing all mobility services.
