‘Stellantis Korea’s New CEO Bang Sil’

On February 1st, Stellantis Korea announced the appointment of Bang Sil, the former executive of Renault Korea, as the new CEO.

Bang Sil is the first female head of the branch since the establishment of an official subsidiary in Korea. As a core market in the India-Asia Pacific (IAP) region, which is represented as the ‘third growth engine’ within Stellantis, this appointment aims to accelerate and enhance the localization strategy of Stellantis brands in line with the company’s electrification strategy, “Dare Forward 2030.”

Recognized as a ‘first-generation female leader’ in the Korean automotive industry, Bang Sil is an expert with over 20 years of experience in various fields such as public relations, marketing, sales, after-sales, and networking. Having worked across importers and domestic OEMs, she possesses a deep understanding of both global conditions and the Korean automotive market.

Ashwani Mufassani, COO of India-Asia Pacific, stated, “We welcome her to the Stellantis family. Based on her leadership and deep knowledge of the Korean market, I am confident she will contribute to enhancing Stellantis brands’ competitiveness in Korea by closely understanding the needs of Korean customers.” He also expressed gratitude for Jake Aumann’s leadership in managing the Korean market during challenging times, wishing him the best in his new role within Stellantis.

Bang Sil commented, “It is an honor to take on such an important role at Stellantis, but I also feel a tremendous sense of responsibility.” She emphasized the importance of strengthening communication with important stakeholders, including internal teams, dealers, and customers, and focuses on strategies to enhance Stellantis’s presence in Korea and deepen the brand’s resonance with customers.
