‘Nick Cassidy of the Jaguar TCS Racing Team’

JLR Korea announced that the Jaguar TCS Racing team has climbed to the top position in the team standings after the results of the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held on the 26th and 27th of January (local time) in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Driver Nick Cassidy from Jaguar TCS Racing stood on the podium twice in Diriyah, securing the title of double world champion. Cassidy achieved an impressive hat-trick by finishing 3rd in round 1, 3rd in round 2, and 1st in round 3.

In the second round, Nick Cassidy showcased his skills with well-timed attack mode activation and the robust efficiency of the I-TYPE 6, earning a podium finish in 3rd place. The following day, in round 3, assigned to the 3rd grid, he activated the first attack mode on the fifth lap and ascended to the lead.

In the closing stages of the race, Cassidy fiercely competed with Robin Frijns from Envision Racing in the I-TYPE 6 while pulling away from the remaining competitors. At a crucial moment in the race, Cassidy was able to create a gap sufficient to activate the second attack mode. He adopted an efficient energy strategy, recording the fastest lap time on the final lap, effectively adding 1 point to his total score and securing the top position in round 3.

Meanwhile, team driver Mitch Evans finished in 5th place in round 2 and 10th in round 3, successfully earning points in both races.

With the conclusion of the Diriyah double-header, Jaguar TCS Racing team leads the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship team standings with a total of 78 points, widening the gap to 31 points over the 2nd place team. Nick Cassidy tops the driver standings with 57 points, while Mitch Evans holds the 5th position with a total of 21 points.

James Barclay, team director of Jaguar TCS Racing, stated, “In Diriyah, our team delivered a fantastic performance and excelled. Nick Cassidy exhibited his best abilities at critical moments and put on a tremendous race. I believe we have made a smooth start toward winning this season as we currently lead both the team championship and the driver championship. We will take time to analyze and further improve ourselves until the next race in São Paulo.”

Nick Cassidy expressed, “All members of Jaguar TCS Racing worked extremely hard to provide a fast and efficient race car. Achieving podium finishes three times, including a win, is an amazing achievement. However, since we never know what might happen before the next race, we will continue to push for good results in São Paulo.”

The 4th round of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place on Saturday, March 16th in São Paulo, Brazil.
