Genesis Unveils Stunning New Concept Car at Gran Turismo World Series

The new concept model reflecting Genesis’s design philosophy can be experienced in the racing game!

On December 2 (local time), Genesis unveiled the ‘Genesis X Gran Berlina Vision Gran Turismo Concept’ for the first time through a physical display at the eSports tournament ‘Gran Turismo World Series’ final match held in Barcelona, Spain.

The ‘Gran Turismo World Series’ is a global championship event of the worldwide digital racing game ‘Gran Turismo 7’, now celebrating its 10th iteration thanks to its immense popularity.

Since 2022, Genesis has been an official partner of Gran Turismo, having previously showcased various vehicles in the game, including the GR3 concept based on the Genesis X concept and the GR4 GT based on the G70.

The ‘Genesis X Gran Berlina Concept’ emotionally embodies Genesis’s unique design language of ‘dynamic elegance’. It reflects Genesis’s design elements in a way tailored to the racing game, showcasing a delicate yet bold brand identity.

The vehicle’s front design features a newly introduced crest grille shape utilizing two rows of quad lamps. These quad lamps smoothly transition to the sides, creating an aerodynamic structure that emphasizes the volume of the rear fenders.

The side profile implements a mid-engine layout by providing a spacious dash-to-axle measurement, positioning the driver seat and engine toward the rear. It also applies the parabolic line, a characteristic design feature of Genesis, extending from the front to the rear, giving a dynamic impression.

The rear adopts the oval-shaped design commonly found in Genesis vehicles, enhanced with an aerodynamic rear spoiler to provide a stable high-speed driving performance.

Inside, the space showcases Genesis’s unique aesthetic of minimalism focused on the driver. It features a digital panoramic interface that serves as an information center, further boosting driving focus on the racetrack.

Furthermore, the bold design of the Genesis X Gran Berlina Concept is accentuated by the Magma color applied to the exterior. Genesis aimed to express a more confident and passionate image unique to Korea through this Magma color.

The Genesis X Gran Berlina Concept will be available for players in the actual Gran Turismo 7 game starting January next year.

Christeski, the Chief Designer of Genesis North America Design Center, expressed, “Designing a vehicle that considers both Genesis’s design and motorsport at a design center filled with diverse car and racing enthusiasts is a significant endeavor,” adding, “This concept model has become a catalyst that positively inspires other ongoing projects.”
