Bentley Motors Korea officially launches the ‘New Bentayga EWB’ at Bentley Tower in Dongdaemun, Seoul.

The New Bentayga EWB is a new model that comes six years after the official launch of the Bentayga in Korea in 2017. The ‘EWB’ in the model name stands for ‘Extended Wheelbase’, which extends the wheelbase of Bentley’s luxury SUV, the Bentayga, to provide rear seat space akin to a high-end private jet.

With the application of the brand’s first-ever ‘Bentley Airline Seats’, luxurious convenience features crafted through British craftsmanship, and dynamic driving performance including an electronic four-wheel steering function, it offers the best value to Korean customers desiring an unparalleled luxury SUV.

Bentley established the luxury SUV market by launching the Bentayga, the first SUV from a high-end luxury brand. With the New Bentayga EWB offering even more spacious and luxurious space, it once again sets a new standard for luxury SUVs.

The most significant feature of the New Bentayga EWB is its length of 5,305 mm, which is 180 mm longer than the standard Bentayga, and a wheelbase of 3,175 mm. To achieve this, Bentley has completely redesigned over 2,500 components, including underfloor, side panels, doors, and roof.

The extended wheelbase is entirely dedicated to expanding the rear seat space, which is not only the widest and most comfortable in its class, but also luxuriously finished with the finest materials and advanced features through Bentley’s exceptional craftsmanship.

Bentley designers maintained the same width and height as the standard Bentayga despite the increased length of the New Bentayga EWB, preserving the elegant and dynamic proportions of the existing Bentayga while ensuring a more comfortable space.

The rear seating in the New Bentayga EWB features a standard configuration of 4+1 seats, consisting of two independent seats and one center seat. The independent seats are adjustable in 16 ways and come with heating and cooling functions, as well as five massage functions. Alternatively, customers can choose a bench-type second-row seat that comfortably accommodates three adults if desired.

The New Bentayga EWB offers an optional selection of the brand’s first premium seat specification, the ‘Bentley Airline Seats’. Inspired by the first-class seats of private jets, the Bentley Airline Seats provide much more comfortable seating and top-notch convenience features than standard independent seats.

First, the Bentley Airline Seats are equipped with thicker and softer adjustable side bolsters and cushions compared to standard independent seats. Each seat has 22-way adjustability, including headrest and cushion extension, which allows for optimal seating comfort and tailored adjustments for passengers’ body shapes.

The Bentley Airline Seats can switch between ‘Relax Mode,’ which provides the utmost comfort, and ‘Business Mode,’ suitable for focusing on work. In Relax Mode, the airline seats recline up to 40 degrees, and a footrest decorated with the finest leather and carpets extends. Passengers can relax in a position that feels akin to being on a first-class flight, while in Business Mode, the seats return to an upright position suitable for work.

When equipped with the Bentley Airline Seat specification, the world’s first ‘Automatic Temperature Detection System’ and ‘Posture Adjustment System’ are included. The Automatic Temperature Detection System measures the interior temperature and humidity of the seat surface in real time, independently adjusting the air conditioning and heater, as well as the heating and cooling functions, by area, providing passengers with the most comfortable and pleasant environment. Passengers can adjust their desired temperature in six levels according to their preferences.

The Posture Adjustment System continuously detects the pressure applied to the seat surface and provides 177 different posture variations over three hours to minimize passengers’ stress and fatigue during long drives.

The New Bentayga EWB features luxurious amenities and interior design elements handcrafted by artisans, maximizing the innate charm of a luxury SUV. For the first time in a Bentley, the ‘Power Closing Door’ function is included, allowing the rear doors to close electronically by pressing a button located behind the center console. Even without pressing the button, simply pushing the door lightly will activate the power closing function, and when opening the door, a motor assists for an elegant operation.

Inside, the New Bentayga EWB features the newly introduced ‘Bentley Diamond Illumination’ ambient light specification. When selecting the Bentley Diamond Illumination package, 12 and 22 LEDs are inserted in a diamond shape on the front and rear doors, respectively. The LEDs, inlaid by hand into the finest leather, subtly create Bentley’s iconic diamond pattern. Additionally, the rear seats are enhanced with ‘Waterfall Illumination’ that symbolizes a waterfall, adding to the luxury.

The diamond quilting pattern, representative of Bentley’s seats, has also been redesigned for the New Bentayga EWB. To create a precise symmetrical diamond pattern, a digitized sewing system sets the exact location, and a special thread that is thinner than ordinary thread is used to apply needle stitches that are half the length of the usual, ensuring a soft texture and perfectly crafted patterns and embroidery.

In addition, the New Bentayga EWB features a ‘Metal Overlay in Veneer’ specification, with a 0.07 mm thick metal badge attached to the doors. When independent seats or Bentley Airline Seats are applied in the rear, a ‘Mulliner Console Bottle Cooler’ crafted by Mulliner artisans can be chosen. The bottle cooler specification can hold a 750 ml bottle and comes with two Cumbria Crystal glasses.

The New Bentayga EWB is powered by a potent 4.0L V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine, delivering 550 horsepower and 78.5 kg.m of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. It achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 290 km/h.

Beyond its powerful powertrain, the New Bentayga EWB is equipped with advanced technologies to enhance driving sensations. Firstly, the ‘Bentley Dynamic Ride’ system, the world’s first commercialized 48V electronic anti-roll control system, is standard, providing excellent cornering performance and high-speed stability.

It also features electronic all-wheel steering, first introduced in the Flying Spur. This technology allows the rear wheels to steer in the opposite direction at low speeds and in the same direction at high speeds, achieving both driving convenience and high-speed stability. As a result, the turning radius of the New Bentayga EWB is just 11.8m, 7% smaller than the standard Bentayga despite its 180mm longer wheelbase.

Additionally, the New Bentayga EWB features reinforced soundproofing materials that block external noise, and anti-vibration materials that suppress unpleasant vibrations, providing the quietest and smoothest ride in its class of luxury SUVs.

The Bentley New Bentayga EWB is offered in two variations, ‘Azur’ and ‘Mulliner’, allowing customers to choose according to their preferences. The New Bentayga EWB Azur is a derivative model designed with elegant well-being as its concept, enabling drivers to savor the comfortable and relaxed driving experience of the New Bentayga EWB. It features a vertically styled ‘Vertical Vane Grille’ and ‘Bright Chrome Matrix Lower Grille’ inspired by flagship sedans, with 22-inch wheels fitted as standard.

Seeking ultimate luxury, the New Bentayga EWB Mulliner features an array of handpicked premier specifications brought directly by Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke division. Standard features include the Mulliner-exclusive ‘Double Diamond Matrix Grille’ and 22-inch Mulliner-specific wheels, alongside the Bentley Airline Seats and Bentley Diamond Illumination as standard options.

The official sales prices for the Bentley New Bentayga EWB in Korea start at 340,300,000 KRW for the New Bentayga EWB Azur, and 393,900,000 KRW for the New Bentayga EWB Mulliner (all prices include VAT and may vary based on options).

Meanwhile, a limited edition ‘New Bentayga EWB First Edition’ will also be launched to commemorate the release of the New Bentayga EWB. This edition comes with preferred specifications such as the Bentley Airline Seats, Bentley Diamond Illumination, and ‘Name for Bentley’ audio, along with unique design elements and emblems exclusive to the First Edition. The price for the New Bentayga EWB First Edition is 381,400,000 KRW (including VAT).
