Experience the Magic: Mercedes-Benz Selection Partners with ‘School of Rock’ for 2024 World Tour

Mercedes-Benz Korea officially sponsors the domestic performance of the blockbuster musical ‘2024 School of Rock World Tour,’ a part of the cultural arts sponsorship program’ Mercedes-Benz Selection,’ starting from January 12 (Friday) at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theater.

‘School of Rock’ is the latest masterpiece by the musical giant Andrew Lloyd Webber, known for composing iconic musicals such as ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Cats.’ This musical is adapted from the film of the same name, featuring child actors with an average age of 11.5 who not only sing and act but also play musical instruments live.

‘School of Rock’ involved top-notch creators alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, receiving rave reviews from audiences and critics worldwide since its Broadway premiere, achieving tremendous success globally. It has been nominated for major categories at prestigious awards such as the Tony Awards (4 nominations), Drama Desk Awards (5 nominations), Outer Critics Circle Awards, and Drama League Awards, while also receiving accolades like the Olivier Awards and WhatsOnStage Awards, proving its outstanding quality.

South Korea serves as the launch site for the ‘2024 School of Rock World Tour,’ which will be held in two cities: Seoul and Busan. This domestic performance marks the return of the tour to Korea after five years since the 2019 premiere, representing the first major original tour to kick off in 2024. From January 12 (Friday) to March 24 (Sunday), it will dazzle audiences at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theater, followed by performances at the Busan Dream Theater in April, promising a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of a concert venue.

To commemorate the Mercedes-Benz Selection performance, Mercedes-Benz Korea will run the ‘Mercedes-Benz Opening Week’ from January 12 (Friday) to January 21 (Sunday), offering various prizes including the Mercedes-Benz Original Collection to the audience.
