Lotte Fine Chemical Imports 5,500 Tons of Vietnamese Urea Amid China’s Export Halt

Urea from Vietnam arriving at Ulsan Port

The domestic industry briefly caught a breath after China’s suspension of urea exports.

On the 16th, Lotte Fine Chemical imported 5,500 tons of vehicle urea from Vietnam through Ulsan Port. This 5,500 tons of vehicle urea is the largest shipment to arrive domestically since the halt of urea exports from China.

The 5,500 tons of urea were received immediately at Lotte Fine Chemical’s Ulsan plant, where they underwent quality inspection before being fed into production.

From the 5,500 tons of urea, 15.5 million liters of vehicle urea solution will be produced and sold nationwide.

The 15.5 million liters of vehicle urea solution is equivalent to a month’s worth of sales in the market.

Lotte Fine Chemical stated, “The importation of Vietnamese urea has alleviated the difficulties in securing urea caused by the suspension of Chinese exports, and we will ensure there are no disruptions in urea production through diversification of import sources.”
