KG Mobility Launches Green Mate Initiative to Expand EV Charging in Underserved Areas

KG Mobility announced on the 7th that it has begun the installation of its first EV charger in Dosaesu Village, Damyang, and is seeking villages in need of support for the Green Mate charging station installation aimed at transportation-underserved areas.

The Green Mate initiative is a campaign geared towards promoting the installation of public EV slow chargers in transportation-disadvantaged areas, helping to make electric vehicle usage more convenient while protecting the environment in harmony with nature.

Eligible applicants are villages without electric vehicle charging infrastructure within 500 meters of the actual residence of customers who have purchased or are about to purchase a Torres EVX. Since the chargers will be for communal use, villages must have at least 100 households residing within the administrative district to apply.

The application period is from November 7 (Tuesday) to December 31 (Sunday), and applicants can apply by visiting https://www.kg-greenmate.co.kr, where they will need to fill out information about themselves and a brief reason for their application before submission.

The selection criteria will be based on an internal selection process to ultimately choose 10 villages, with plans to support the installation of EV charging infrastructure and related facilities in the first half of 2024.

Meanwhile, the promotional video for the Torres EVX Dosaesu Village campaign was awarded the Grand Prix in October’s Consumer Voice rankings by TVCF, the country’s largest consumer advertising evaluation site, after a comprehensive evaluation across 13 categories including product favorability and ad satisfaction by research agencies and consumer panels.

Additionally, the Torres EVX Dosaesu Village video also topped the rankings in the category for commercials that stimulate friendly purchases, reflecting the personalized story that resonates with consumers, resulting in positive public reception. The video is available on KG Mobility’s official YouTube channel.

Recently, KG Mobility donated the first Torres EVX to Dosaesu Village in Damyang and installed the first EV charging facility in October. With this Green Mate initiative, KG Mobility plans to continue its efforts to install EV charging facilities in remote villages and lead the charge toward a sustainable future.
