Volvo Cars Korea Partners with Purme Foundation to Support Children with Disabilities

Volvo Cars Korea has signed a partnership agreement with the Purme Foundation, which supports the rehabilitation and independence of people with disabilities, providing a donation of 300 million won for support equipment for children with disabilities.

The signing ceremony, held on the 16th at the Volvo Cars Goyang showroom, was attended by key representatives, including CEO Lee Yoon-mo from Volvo Cars Korea, Senior Executive Vice President Lee Man-sik overseeing Sales & Marketing, and Director Baek Kyung-hak and Business Director Jung Tae-young from the Purme Foundation.

Since 2017, Volvo Cars Korea has provided customized mobility aids to children and adolescents with disabilities for seven years. Through this project, they have supported about 700 disabled children and adolescents with mobility aids, helping them with rehabilitation and independence while ensuring their right to healthy mobility.

The donated funds will be used to provide customized mobility aids for 100 children and adolescents with disabilities under the age of 18, as well as to cover the operating costs of a children’s rehabilitation hospital. Applications for mobility aids can be submitted through medical and welfare institutions until December 15, and more details can be found on the Purme Foundation’s website.

CEO Lee Yoon-mo expressed, “I hope that many more disabled children and adolescents can enjoy healthy mobility rights and lead free and happy lives. Volvo Cars Korea will continue to contribute to creating a safe and healthy society through various social responsibility activities (CSR).”

Meanwhile, Volvo Cars Korea is engaging in various CSR activities to continue the heritage of ‘safety’ and ‘sustainability’ that Volvo pursues. In May, they conducted volunteer activities at ‘Purme Social Farm,’ a standard workplace for people with disabilities to help young adults with developmental disabilities achieve healthy independence. By the end of this year, as part of the ‘2023 Eco-Friendly Campaign,’ they plan to donate a total of 1,400 trees to Nanjido Noreul Park in Seoul in collaboration with an environmental foundation.
