Lamborghini Super Trofeo Season Finale: Champions Crowned in Italy

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final, a global one-make race competition organized by Lamborghini, successfully concluded its 2023 season at the Vallelunga Autodrome in Italy from November 18 to 19.

Recognized as the fastest one-make race on Earth, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo is held across three continents: Europe, North America, and Asia, with participants racing in the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2 model.

This season marked the 10th anniversary of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which saw participation from numerous professional racers and customers from May through November across three continents. Competitors vied for champion titles across four categories: Pro, Pro-Am, Amateur, and Lamborghini Cup.

A total of 82 cars (up from 65 last season) recorded outstanding performances in regional rounds held across three continents, leading to a grand World Final attended by professional/amateur racers and around 10,000 spectators, resulting in the crowning of world champions in four categories.

In the Pro class, ‘Amauri Bonduelle’ from BDR Competition by Grupo Phrum claimed the top title. Bonduelle had previously participated in the ‘Young Driver’ program organized by Lamborghini to nurture young racers.

In the PRO-AM class, ‘AU Alex’ and Frederic Schandorp from Target Racing took the win, while in the Amateur category, Anthony McIntosh and Glen McGee from PPM emerged victorious. In the Lamborghini Cup, Showta Abajiyava from ART Line was crowned champion.

During the championship awards held on Saturday evening, it was announced that the location for the 2024 season World Final will be at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain.

Champion Amauri Bonduelle expressed, “After the fifth round last week, I could not imagine winning the World Final. Winning against many experienced drivers feels truly unbelievable.”

Meanwhile, the Super Trofeo Asia Series was held for the first time in three years at the Inje Speedium in Gangwon Province this past August, with Korean drivers Lee Chang-woo and Kwon Hyung-jin from SQDA-Grit Motorsports achieving impressive results, finishing first in the Amateur class and third overall, delighting Korean fans.
