KG Mobility Unveils New Brand Identity ‘KGM’ as It Celebrates One Year with KG Group

KG Mobility has launched its new flagship brand ‘KGM’ to mark the first anniversary of its integration into the KG Group family. The brand, which uses the initials of KG Mobility, will enhance its brand image and customer satisfaction services through a revamp of signage at nationwide dealerships and a service network that began in April during its first anniversary.

The newly launched flagship brand ‘KGM’, used in overseas markets since April, aims not only to enhance corporate image but also to unify the brand in the domestic market.

The new flagship brand ‘KGM’ incorporates design elements for visibility and ease of communication, representing KG Mobility products with a clear and concise visual identity, according to company representatives.

KG Mobility (formerly known as Ssangyong Motor) made a fresh start as a family member of the KG Group after the conclusion of its corporate rehabilitation process in November 2022, and has been vigorously pursuing management normalization over the past year, including changing its corporate name in March to transform into a mobility company.

In April, the establishment of a special purpose company KG S&C was announced to develop customized products and special-purpose vehicles, demonstrating synergy with KG Mobility. In July, an acquisition of KGM COMMERCIAL (previously Edison Motors) was completed, followed by the signing of an MOU in October to establish an electric vehicle battery pack factory, a joint development agreement for next-generation hybrid systems, and plans to enter the certified used car market to diversify its business towards becoming a mobility company.

Additionally, KG Mobility is actively pursuing overseas market expansion. There has been strategic cooperation with the Vietnamese FUTA Group for expansion into the Southeast Asian market, along with product licensing and KD supply contracts with Saudi Arabia’s SNAM (Saudi National Automobiles Manufacturing Co.), starting mass production in 2024.

The new brand ‘KGM’ representing KG Mobility, along with the wing emblem visualizing wings, is being applied to over 200 sales networks nationwide, with replacement work ongoing since November, expected to be completed by December. The nationwide service network consisting of over 500 parts and services will also undergo signage updates gradually.

Furthermore, the lettering ‘KGM’ first applied to the Torres EVX will be implemented in all newly produced models starting December 1.

On a related note, KG Mobility plans to gradually establish KGM’s identity while inheriting the heritage of Ssangyong Motor, following its recent name change in March and under a fade-out strategy.
