Porsche Delivers Record Growth Amid Global Economic Uncertainty

Porsche announced that it delivered 242,722 vehicles in the third quarter of 2023, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year.

Detlev von Platen, member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, stated, “Porsche pursues a unique and highly personalized product strategy. Our balanced global sales structure is based on solid performance, even amidst uncertainty in the global economy.”

In terms of regional sales, the European market stood out with a 23% increase, delivering 51,742 units, with Germany witnessing a 19% increase, totaling 24,814 units. North America saw a 14% growth with 64,487 units delivered. However, in China, the unstable economic situation led to a 12% decrease to 60,748 units. Other emerging markets recorded an increase of 23%, with 40,931 vehicles sold.

The iconic Porsche sports car, the 911, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, proved its enduring popularity with a 27% increase, delivering 38,789 units.

The demand for the new Cayenne, unveiled in April, was also high, although it experienced a slight decline of 3% to 64,457 units due to discrepancies in market launches. The Macan saw a 15% increase with 68,354 units delivered, while the Panamera experienced a 5% growth with 26,779 units. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman both saw an 18% increase with 16,458 units delivered.

The Taycan recorded high demand with a sales increase of 11%, totaling 27,885 units. Detlev von Platen pointed out, “Since its launch in 2019, the Taycan has consistently achieved successful results, and despite supply chain disruptions and varying progress in the global BEV market, we expect a significant increase in sales compared to the previous year.”

Detlev von Platen concluded, “The global delivery and demand for Porsche products remains high, and we are optimistic about the performance in the remaining fourth quarter. Porsche will continue to focus on value-oriented growth above all.”
