Volkswagen Launches Exciting Promotion for the ID.4 Electric SUV in South Korea!

Volkswagen Korea is launching a special promotion for the ID.4, the brand’s first all-electric SUV, aimed at promoting electric vehicle adoption and boosting sales.

As part of this promotion, customers purchasing the ID.4 can choose between a monthly payment option starting from 290,000 KRW through Volkswagen Financial Services, a 36-month interest-free benefit, or a Kakao T Point voucher worth 5 million KRW (10 vouchers of 500,000 KRW each).

Volkswagen Korea’s President, Sasha Askhizian, explained the initiative, saying, “We prepared this promotion to support the government’s plan for the advancement of electric vehicles while also giving back to both new and existing customers of the ID.4.” He added, “Volkswagen Korea will continue to implement an accessible premium strategy, allowing everyone to experience top-quality products at reasonable prices.”

The T Points provided in this promotion can be used like cash on the Kakao T app, covering various mobility services including electric vehicle charging, taxis, parking, and more. This benefit is available to anyone who receives their ID.4 from October 1st of this year, whether they are new or returning customers. (Limited quantities by location, available while supplies last)

A voucher has also been prepared for existing customers who purchased an ID.4. Customers who bought the 2023 model from June to September will receive a voucher worth 2.5 million KRW for use at Volkswagen Korea’s official service centers. (Excludes customers of the 2022 model)

More details about the promotion can be found on Volkswagen Korea’s official website and at official dealerships.

The ID.4, launched in September 2022 as the first ever to be released in a country outside Europe, represents the brand’s first all-electric SUV, promoting itself as a “accessible EV for everyone” in a premium segment that was previously dominated by high-priced models. Immediately after its launch, the initial batch sold out, and it achieved notable recognition by winning two awards at a prestigious domestic automotive ceremony, also earning the Smart EV Award in South Korea.

The 2023 ID.4 has a maximum driving range of 421 km under combined conditions on a single charge, with improved government-certified energy efficiency of 4.9 km/kWh, enhancing its value proposition.

The 2023 ID.4, the only imported vehicle receiving 100% government subsidy in Europe, also boasts an attractive price point. It currently benefits from the highest level of government subsidy among imported electric vehicles at 5.8 million KRW, with additional local government subsidies potentially bringing the purchase price down to the upper 40 million KRW range.
