The ‘BMW Ladies Championship 2023’ provides fully electric vehicles as hole-in-one prizes, reflecting the event’s commitment to sustainability.

The decision to designate pure electric models as hole-in-one prizes stems from a desire to communicate the joy of emissions-free driving that pure electric vehicles offer, as well as a commitment to the sustainable future values that the BMW Ladies Championship aims to promote.

The BMW i5 eDrive40, awarded to players achieving a hole-in-one at the 14th hole, is the first pure electric model in the BMW 5 Series, utilizing the advanced 5th generation BMW eDrive technology. It boasts a potent 340 horsepower, a maximum torque of 40.8 kg·m, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds.

Moreover, the ‘BMW i7 xDrive60,’ offered as a prize for a hole-in-one at the 16th hole, features a striking design emphasizing luxury, along with an unparalleled experience of elegance and innovative digital interfaces. With two electric motors delivering a remarkable 544 horsepower, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and is equipped with a 105.7 kWh high-voltage battery.

The BMW Ladies Championship is known for being a lucky event where participating players annually record hole-in-ones. During the KLPGA Tour held from 2015 to 2017, there were three hole-in-ones between 2015 and 2016. Since 2019, there have been hole-in-ones in every tournament hosted by the LPGA tour, totaling 8 hole-in-ones across six matches. Notably, at last year’s event, Na-yeon Choi recorded a hole-in-one, providing an unforgettable farewell performance to fans on the LPGA stage.

A representative from BMW Korea stated, “We selected pure electric model vehicles as hole-in-one prizes to realize the sustainable future values aspired by the BMW Ladies Championship. We hope that the remaining tournament days will bring the luck of hole-in-ones to provide joyful memories for both the players and the fans.”
