Unleashing Power: The All-New Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Electric Sports Car

Hyundai Motors has launched the ‘Ioniq 5 N’, the first high-performance electric vehicle of the N brand, which concentrates advanced electrification technology to push driving performance to its limits.

The Ioniq 5 N features a high-performance all-wheel-drive system, an 84.0 kWh high-output battery, and a dedicated thermal management system optimized for electric vehicles, all of which provide extraordinary driving performance.

Equipped with front and rear motors that deliver a combined output of 448 kW (609 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 740 Nm (75.5 kgf·m), the Ioniq 5 N can achieve even greater performance with the ‘N Green Boost’ mode, temporarily boosting the combined output to 478 kW (650 horsepower) and maximum torque to 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m), allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.

The Ioniq 5 N incorporates various specialized features such as the ‘N Pedal’, which uses regenerative braking to assist cornering, the ‘N Drift Optimizer’ for smooth drifting, and the ‘N Torque Distribution’ that allows drivers to distribute power between the front and rear wheels directly, ensuring exceptional cornering performance.

Innovative battery thermal management systems like ‘N Battery Preconditioning (NBP)’ preheat or cool the battery to the proper temperature before driving, and ‘N Race’, which controls battery temperature for optimal performance on the track, are implemented to maintain performance even in harsh racing conditions.

Hyundai also equipped the Ioniq 5 N with the ‘N e-Shift’, a virtual gear system that replicates the shift feel of internal combustion engines through motor control, and the ‘N Active Sound Plus’, a high-performance electric vehicle sound system that can be heard both inside and outside the vehicle, enhancing the driving experience even more.

Moreover, the Ioniq 5 N comes with distinctive design features such as the ▲N-specific radiator grille ▲EV N exclusive luminous orange strip ▲N-specific rear spoiler, reflecting its high-performance styling. Inside, design elements specific to the N brand, such as ▲steering wheel ▲door scuff ▲metal pedals ▲bucket seats, further emphasize the unique N spirit.

The Ioniq 5 N will be available in a single trim with a price starting at 76 million won after the individual consumption tax of 5% and green vehicle tax benefits. (※ Actual purchase prices may be lower depending on government and local subsidies)

Alongside the launch of the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai Motors plans various marketing activities suitable for a high-performance electric vehicle.

From the 4th to the 11th of this month, customers who sign a contract for the Ioniq 5 N and enter a contest on the Hyundai website will be eligible for a drawing to participate in the customer invitation test drive event, the ‘Ioniq 5 N Driving Experience’.

Winners will be able to experience the Ioniq 5 N’s outstanding performance through various driving courses such as circuit driving and gymkhana at the Taekwon HMG Driving Experience Center on the 22nd. (※ Winners will be individually notified after the 12th)

Furthermore, to ensure customers can enjoy the track without worrying about charging, Hyundai plans to install a fast-charging station specializing in the N brand in Inje Speedium, Gangwon-do, capable of charging up to 10 vehicles at the same time in the fourth quarter of this year, offering free charging benefits to Ioniq 5 N customers.

Also, from October, Hyundai will run a promotional event in partnership with the energy drink ‘Hot Six’ for two months. N-branded Hot Six beverages featuring the Ioniq 5 N and the Avante N will be available at convenience stores, supermarkets, and marts nationwide, alongside a prize event for customers who purchase the product.

A Hyundai representative stated, “The Ioniq 5 N is the first high-performance electric vehicle designed not only for everyday driving but also for track driving. Starting with the Ioniq 5 N, we will continue to deliver the enduring DNA of the N brand in the era of electrification.”
