BYD Unveils Six Electric Vehicles and Innovative Technologies at IAA Mobility 2023

At the IAA Mobility 2023, the largest auto show in Europe being held in Munich, BYD showcased six electric vehicle models along with new innovative technologies. Furthermore, the luxury brand DENZA, under BYD, made its European debut with the introduction of the DENZA D9.

BYD had previously unveiled three models at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, including the BYD Han, BYD Tang, and BYD Atto 3. In June 2023, BYD Dolphin was officially launched, followed by the BYD Seal in September. The showcase of the BYD Seal U, the SUV version of the Seal, completes a lineup of six electric vehicles, quickly expanding BYD’s portfolio.

BYD mentioned that the IAA Mobility 2023 is a great opportunity to introduce the BYD Seal and BYD Seal U to European customers. Both vehicles are equipped with BYD’s innovative technologies aimed at safety, comfort, and performance, drawing significant public interest.

The BYD Seal, awarded the German iF Design Award, features the Ocean X design language, inspired by the sea, offering a sleek and sporty aesthetic.

Utilizing BYD’s latest technology, the CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, which integrates the vehicle’s body and blade battery, it has been structurally reinforced. Furthermore, BYD’s innovative iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaption Control) feature enhances its exceptional safety. The BYD Seal is equipped with an 82.5kWh blade battery, offering a driving range of 570/520km (WLTP standards). There are two trims available: a 230 kW rear-wheel drive ‘Design’ and a 390 kW all-wheel drive ‘Excellence’.

Making its European debut, the BYD Seal U is BYD’s newly launched D-segment pure electric SUV, designed with high specifications, showcasing outstanding versatility. Like the BYD Seal, it also features a design language inspired by the ocean, providing spacious seating for five, along with remarkable safety, comfort, and practicality.

The BYD Seal U is offered in two trims. The ‘Comfort’ version features a 71.8 kWh blade battery with a driving range of 420 km (WLTP), while the ‘Design’ version comes with an 87 kWh blade battery, providing a generous driving range of 500 km (WLTP).

During this IAA Mobility, BYD introduced the luxury brand DENZA, developed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, making its first appearance in Europe with the spacious seven-seater (2+2+3) DENZA D9.

Michael Shu, General Manager of BYD Europe and International Cooperation, stated, “BYD is committed to introducing its innovative technologies and eco-friendly vehicles to the European market. IAA Mobility 2023 provides a perfect platform to showcase BYD’s latest models.” He added, “We are working tirelessly to offer a diverse product lineup to meet various consumer needs and aim to provide high-quality customer service in collaboration with experienced dealers in Europe, hoping to promote BYD’s technological innovations and build cooperative relationships with partners in Europe at IAA Mobility.”
