Audi Korea has launched the facelifted model of its high-performance flagship sedan, the ‘New S8 L TFSI’, and has begun sales.
The ‘New S8 L TFSI’ is a high-performance model that adds sporty performance to Audi’s large flagship sedan ‘A8’, delivering powerful performance and dynamism for enjoyable driving even in daily life. The ‘S’ in Audi’s high-performance lineup signifies ‘Sovereign Performance’, embodying a unique technology inherited from motorsport DNA that allows for both comfortable everyday driving and thrilling sporty performance.
The ‘New S8 L TFSI’ is equipped with a 4.0L V8 TFSI engine and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, producing an impressive output of 571 horsepower and a maximum torque of 81.58 kg.m. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h (safety limited), and a combined fuel economy of 7.6 km/l (6.4 km/l in the city and 9.8 km/l on the highway). Additionally, the Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a sport differential assists in dynamic cornering, providing enhanced stability and agility.
The exterior of the ‘New S8 L TFSI’ is based on the design of the ‘Audi Prologue Concept Car’, featuring upgraded bumpers, door sills, and muffler tips to set it apart from the standard A8. The S8 badge is applied to the front and rear as standard, along with a black package on the front/rear bumpers, logo, grille, and window moldings, giving it a sleek and sharp appearance. The carbon electric side mirrors, equipped with heating, anti-glare, and memory functions, add to the sophisticated design.
At the rear, there are four tailpipes with chrome trim applied to the diffuser exclusive to the S model. The wide hexagonal single-frame grille and 21-inch 10-Y spoke Evo-style wheels with red calipers emphasize the dynamic look of the ‘New S8 L TFSI’.
Inside, the cabin features carbon vector inlays, a carbon gear lever, and a three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel, creating an even more luxurious and sporty atmosphere. The diamond-stitched Valcona sports comfort seats, which embody Audi’s high-end sensory quality, come with electric adjustments, memory settings, heating, ventilation, and massage functions for all seats. The door entry lights, ambient lighting (multi-color), matrix LED reading lights, and ceremonial functions create a refined impression while providing a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
The ‘Digital Matrix LED headlight’ equipped in the ‘New S8 L TFSI’ features an X-shaped design and blue LED lighting, showcasing the advanced elegance of Audi’s new design. The Audi laser light equipped in the ‘Digital Matrix LED headlight’ offers higher brightness than standard LEDs, illuminating a wider field of view with densely arranged beams. The ‘OLED tail lights’ with dynamic turn signals, evenly illuminate geometric light shapes through the OLEDs while allowing for brightness adjustment, enhancing visibility and safety, thus completing the vehicle’s external design. Additionally, features like acoustic glass that effectively blocks outside noise, an adaptive windshield wiper that sprays water according to the blade direction for a clearer view, high beam assist that automatically turns the high beam off and on, and headlight washers assist in more convenient driving.
The ‘New S8 TFSI’ is equipped with various safety and premium convenience features that encapsulate Audi’s innovative advanced technology, providing top-notch safety and comfort while delivering a dynamic driving experience.
With the integration of a front camera that identifies road conditions and an active suspension system that adjusts the suspension more dynamically through an electronic chassis platform, the vehicle can achieve both sporty driving and comfortable sedan performance. Furthermore, a range of safety features designed with both driver and pedestrian consideration includes ‘Adaptive Cruise Assist’, ‘Exit Warning System’, ‘Intersection Assist’, ‘Pre Sense 360°’, and ‘Head-Up Display’.
Additionally, equipped with a 12.3-inch ‘Audi Virtual Cockpit’ and dual touch screens with haptic feedback for MMI Navigation Plus and MMI Touch Response, the system provides a driver-friendly layout with clarity and ease of control for all vehicle information. Furthermore, features such as the ‘Audi Smartphone Interface’ for immediate smartphone access, ‘Rear Seat Entertainment’, and the high-end Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System featuring 1,920 watts through 23 high-performance speakers enhance the driving pleasure with refined sound quality.
Moreover, the ‘Audi Connect’ system offers various safety and convenience services through vehicle-driver-network connectivity, allowing drivers to remotely control the vehicle, check its status, locate it, and request emergency assistance through the My Audi application.
The price of the ‘New Audi S8 L TFSI’ is 216.3 million won (including VAT).
Meanwhile, Audi provides a basic warranty for all models sold through official dealers called the “Audi Warranty,” which covers a duration of 5 years or up to 150,000 km (whichever comes first). Additionally, Audi offers the ‘Audi Car Service Plus’ program that provides regular inspections and consumable parts replacement, along with basic vehicle warranty services for all models.
The ‘Audi Car Service Plus’ program assists with professional and systematic vehicle maintenance by providing essential replacement parts and services according to the manufacturer’s recommended vehicle inspection intervals at no additional cost at official Audi service centers.
