TMAP Mobility Enhances Safety with New Disabled Protection Zone Feature

On the 13th, TMAP Mobility announced that it has added a new traffic protection zone feature in its recent update.

The ‘Traffic Vulnerable Protection Zone’ feature expands upon the existing TMAP service for children’s protection zones, including alerts for elderly, disabled, and local resident protection zones. When a traffic vulnerable protection zone is detected while driving, it will be notified both through signs and voice alerts.

TMAP is the only comprehensive mobility platform that provides guidance to both disabled protection zones and local resident protection zones.

After setting the starting point and destination in TMAP, users can select the ‘Child Protection’ option in the route summary screen to receive guidance for bypassing traffic vulnerable protection zones.

Along with the update of the ‘Traffic Vulnerable Protection Zone’ feature, additional voice and signboard functionalities have been introduced to enhance convenience for freight drivers, providing information on height restrictions for overpasses and bridges, road width limitations, and weight restrictions.

The navigation map display style, including background map and building representation, has also been improved to help drivers focus more on the navigation.

Kim Yong-hoon, head of the AIM Services team at TMAP Mobility, stated, “We expect this update to enhance the safety of vulnerable road users and significantly contribute to accident prevention for drivers. We will continue to introduce various services focused on customer convenience in the future.”
