KG Mobility Expands Global Horizons with the European Launch of the Torres

KG Mobility has launched the Torres in Europe, following its overwhelming popularity in the domestic market, marking the start of a significant global sales expansion.

The launch event was held on the 11th and 13th (local time) in Warsaw, Poland, attended by KG Mobility’s Chairman Kwak Jae-sun, who engaged with dealership representatives and local media, intensifying the company’s global presence.

Moreover, the event saw the participation of Huang Ki-young, a Senior Executive of KG Mobility’s Europe/Russia Division, as well as the presidents and sales managers from dealerships across 22 European countries.

In his address, Chairman Kwak Jae-sun expressed his gratitude, saying, “Despite the challenging circumstances, we appreciate your support for KG Mobility. As we embark on this new journey, we have achieved over 50% growth in sales in the European market in the first half of the year. Especially with the launch of the Torres, which has proven its product viability in the domestic market, we must create new opportunities and successes, thus your active interest and cooperation are essential.”

Additionally, in an interview with Polish Economic TV, Chairman Kwak emphasized the significance of the European market, stating, “Europe is the leading market for electrification, making it a critical market for realizing KG Mobility’s vision. With the addition of the Torres to our SUV lineup, we have strengthened our position, and the Torres EVX is also set to launch by the end of the year. We plan to work with local dealerships to maximize synergies.”

KG Mobility plans to commence localized sales of the Torres in Europe, alongside investing in online marketing through various digital content development, and actively supporting and enhancing fleet marketing activities for dealerships.

Moreover, the company is exploring active entry strategies into emerging markets like the Balkans and aims to leverage the popularity of the Torres in the domestic market as a springboard for global expansion through the launch of the Torres EVX in the second half.

The event featured a launch and test drive of the Torres alongside other models like the newly redesigned Rexton New Arena, Rexton Sports & Khan Coolman, and the New Tivoli, which were all released to significant improvements in interior design and product capabilities in May and June. These models showcased a variety of custom accessories such as side steps and roof carriers, reflecting diverse consumer needs and enhancing product competitiveness.

During conferences with dealerships, the new KG Mobility CI and corporate vision, long-term product development plans, and export strategies were shared, alongside discussions on various measures to increase sales expansion and competitiveness in overseas markets.

After test-driving the Torres, dealership representatives expressed strong confidence in the authentic SUV style, robust exterior design, impressive driving performance, and ride comfort, believing that it would not only meet but exceed European consumer expectations based on its positive reception in Korea.

There was also great anticipation for increased sales volumes of the re-engineered Rexton New Arena, Rexton Sports & Khan Coolman, and the New Tivoli, given their substantial product improvements.

Meanwhile, the Torres, which was released in July last year and has gained immense popularity, reached record pre-sales for KG Mobility (over 12,000 units) and set records for single model monthly sales (6,595 units), accumulating 50,000 units (48,259 units) in domestic sales by June. Since the global launch in Chile last November, the company has accelerated its efforts to penetrate export markets.

KG Mobility stated, “Through this launch event, we were able to confirm that the Torres, which has gained great popularity in the domestic market, can also succeed in the global market,” and emphasized plans to expand global sales through proactive cooperation with local European dealers, various local marketing strategies, brand awareness enhancement activities, and strengthening efforts in emerging markets.
