Hyundai Motor Group Steps Up for Disaster Relief: 3 Billion Won Donation and Emergency Support

Hyundai Motor Group has donated 3 billion won for disaster recovery efforts in response to the severe flooding and has initiated emergency recovery support activities.

On the 20th (Thursday), Hyundai Motor Group announced that it has provided a donation of 3 billion won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to ensure quick support for damage recovery and residents affected by the flooding.

In addition to the donation, the company will deploy three mobile laundry relief vehicles to assist in handling contaminated laundry and send a mental health recovery bus to the field to provide rest for affected residents and recovery workers. Furthermore, an emergency assistance team will be organized to deliver relief supply kits, bottled water, and basic necessities to the affected areas.

The deployed mobile laundry units consist of three 18kg washing machines, three 23kg dryers, and one generator, capable of processing an average of 1,000 kg of laundry per day. The mental health recovery bus will be equipped with premium seating, massage devices, easy cooking facilities, and first-aid kits, allowing affected residents, emergency responders, and volunteers to rest.

Hyundai Motor Group also offers various services to customers who own vehicles in flood-affected areas.

The company plans to provide free inspections for customers with vehicles in flood-affected areas and offer up to a 50% discount on repair costs for flood-damaged vehicles to alleviate customer burdens. After repairs are completed, a free car wash service will also be provided. (Note: Available for customers without vehicle insurance, requires a damage confirmation letter, support limited to a total discount amount of 3 million won.)

Additionally, customers who have submitted their flood-damaged vehicles for repair will receive 50% support for rental car costs for a maximum of 10 days. (Note: Available for customers without vehicle insurance; excludes corporate, commercial, and cargo vehicles.)

Separately, Hyundai Glovis has begun supporting the free transportation of emergency relief supplies to disaster-affected areas through the National Disaster Relief Association.

A representative from Hyundai Motor Group stated, “We extend our deepest condolences to everyone experiencing difficulties due to the record heavy rains and flooding, and we hope to provide some assistance to the residents who have suffered sudden damage.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group has actively donated funds for disaster relief in the past, including 2 billion won for recovery efforts following the wildfire in Gangneung and 2 billion won for the recovery efforts after the flooding last year, reflecting its commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility during disasters and emergencies.
