Discover the All-New Kia Sorento: A Bold Step into the Future

Kia unveiled the redesigned model of the fourth-generation Sorento, ‘The New Sorento,’ on the 25th (Tuesday).

The fourth-generation Sorento has sold over 60,000 units annually in South Korea since its launch in 2020, maintaining the top position in the mid-size SUV market for three consecutive years. As of this year, over 36,000 units have been sold in the first half alone, reflecting its popularity among customers.

Kia has revamped the design of The New Sorento to reflect its brand design philosophy, ‘Opposites United,’ achieving a level of design comparable to a new car.

The New Sorento embodies ‘Boldness Harmonious with Nature,’ one of the five keywords that make up Opposites United, featuring an exterior that combines futuristic sophistication with a rugged image, as well as a modern interior design based on advanced technology.

The interior incorporates a driver-centric environment with features such as a panoramic curved display equipped with the next-generation infotainment system ccNC, an infotainment/climate control interface, and a fingerprint authentication system.

Kia plans to announce the prices for gasoline and diesel models, as well as the hybrid 4WD model, by mid-August, while the hybrid 2WD model will be announced after it passes certification, applying benefits from eco-friendly vehicle tax incentives.

Taking inspiration from the boldness that harmonizes with nature inherent in its brand design philosophy, Opposites United, Kia has elevated the luxury feel of The New Sorento’s exterior and interior designs to a new-car level.

The exterior of The New Sorento has a concept of ‘Futuristic Boldness’ with a forward-thinking and robust SUV design.

The front features a radiator grille with a three-dimensional modular pattern and harmoniously arranged ‘Signature Starmap Lighting’ daytime running lights (DRL), creating a sophisticated first impression of next-generation mobility powered by advanced technology.

Additionally, the sculpted hood enhances the vehicle’s presence, while the boldly proportioned bumper integrates nicely with the lower skid plate, imparting a confident image as an SUV.

The side profile is characterized by vertically arranged headlamps and rear combination lamps that emphasize the character line, complemented by newly designed alloy wheels for a solid and refined feel.

The rear employs a starmap graphic that connects two rear combination lamps and features a wide rear skid plate, reinforcing the robust SUV image.

The interior emphasizes a wide image through the theme of ‘Boundless Continuity’ with horizontal design elements.

The panoramic curved display seamlessly connects a 12.3-inch cluster and infotainment system into a single screen, equipped with Kia’s next-generation infotainment system ‘ccNC’ to present cohesive information.

Underneath, sleek air vents stretch across the width, seamlessly integrating with the infotainment and climate control interface, creating an organic and tech-savvy harmony.

The fingerprint authentication system located in the center console serves as a means for starting the engine or facilitating easy payment and valet mode release, easing customer mobility.

The design-specialized ‘Gravity’ trim features a unique design radiator grille and wheels, with black styling applied to the outside mirror covers and roof rails. The exclusive front and rear skid plates and leather seats enhance the ruggedness and luxury.

The New Sorento comes in five exterior colors, including Interstellar Gray, Cityscape Green, and Volcanic Sand Brown, along with three interior color options featuring new colors like Black/Olive Brown.

Kia plans to announce prices for gasoline, diesel, and hybrid 4WD models by mid-August, while prices for the hybrid 2WD model will be revealed after certification processes are completed, applying eco-friendly vehicle tax incentives.

A Kia representative stated, “The Sorento has continually set the standard for the most refined SUV that meets the demands of the times, gaining immense popularity among customers.” They also mentioned that existing Sorento customers awaiting delivery will be informed sequentially.
