Porsche has announced that the ‘Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8’ will star as a main character in the new film ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.’
This film depicts an adventure in the 90s as the ‘Autobots’ join forces with a new faction, the ‘Maximals,’ to protect Earth. In this context, the legendary ‘Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 (964)’ makes its appearance as the Autobot ‘Mirage,’ teaming up with ‘Optimus Prime’ for battle.
Oliver Hoffman, Head of Marketing Communication at Porsche AG, stated, “The 911 Carrera RS 3.8 perfectly fits the time frame of the film, set in 1994, as well as the character of Mirage. In the movie, Mirage is a tough character who shows a blend of noble and sometimes rebellious traits,” he explained.
Only 55 units of the Carrera RS 3.8 model were produced worldwide, making it a rare gem. To avoid damage during filming, five identical vehicles were specially created for shooting diverse roles. However, the true engine sound of ‘Mirage’ was recorded from an actual 911 Carrera RS 3.8 model.
