Mercedes-Benz Korea held a delivery event on the 12th to commemorate the sale of the 7th generation new ‘All-New Mercedes-AMG SL’ luxury roadster for purchasing customers.
The All-New Mercedes-AMG SL is a complete redesign of the SL model, which has been an icon of the world’s most successful luxury roadster for 70 years since its debut in 1952.
Mercedes-Benz Korea first unveiled the All-New Mercedes-AMG SL at the Seoul Mobility Show in March 2023. To celebrate its launch, a customer delivery event took place on June 12 at AMG Speedway in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
During the delivery event, Thomas Klein, the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, personally attended to congratulate and thank the purchasing customers. Additionally, special commemorative gifts and an AMG model track driving program were provided, offering customers an unforgettable occasion.
At the event, Thomas Klein stated, “It is meaningful to meet the All-New Mercedes-AMG SL customers here at the Yongin Speedway, where they can experience the powerful performance of AMG. I hope you feel the timeless heritage and emotions of the All-New AMG SL moving forward.”
One customer participating in the event expressed, “I am very happy to become an owner of the All-New Mercedes-AMG SL through such a special experience today. It feels like a great starting point to create precious memories with the All-New AMG SL from now on.”
The All-New Mercedes-AMG SL is the first SL model independently developed by Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance brand AMG. It combines AMG’s powerful driving performance and unique emotions with Mercedes-Benz’s innovative technology, newly reimagined while preserving the heritage of the SL.
The exterior of the Mercedes-AMG SL reinterprets the classic design of the 300 SL with modern sensibilities, completing the characteristic SL proportions with a long wheelbase and hood, short overhangs, and a sharply sloped front windshield, adding Mercedes-Benz’s aesthetic purity and AMG’s sportiness. The interior incorporates the minimalist design elements inspired by the 300 SL with the latest digital tools such as a 12.3-inch driver’s display and an 11.9-inch central display, achieving a ‘hyper-analogue’ blend.
The All-New Mercedes-AMG SL features a lighter architecture and is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine (M177) that delivers a maximum output of 585 horsepower and maximum torque of 81.5 kg.m, reaching a top speed of 315 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
Along with this, the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system and the rear axle steering system, applied to the SL for the first time in 70 years, provide optimal driving power, while ensuring agile and stable steering. The AMG Dynamic Plus package, featuring high-performance elements that enhance AMG’s supreme driving feel and agility, delivers a stable yet dynamic driving experience.
