TMAP Mobility Launches Revolutionary Electric Vehicle Charging Delivery Service

TMAP Mobility announced on the 20th that it is launching a TMAP electric vehicle charging delivery service.

The TMAP electric vehicle charging delivery service is the first outcome since its partnership with the startup Tivy was established last year. Users can call for charging to any location accessible by the delivery vehicle (van-sized), providing a significant advantage in terms of service coverage, available throughout all of Seoul and Bundang in Seongnam. The company plans to further expand the service areas in the future.

With this service launch, TMAP Mobility expects to significantly enhance convenience for electric vehicle users. Currently, the ratio of charging infrastructure in Korea stands at just 0.4 chargers per electric vehicle, essentially meaning three users compete for a single charger.

Moreover, the fast-charging infrastructure is only 8% of the total, and users must check in advance for any malfunctions or availability of chargers before visiting the charging stations.

TMAP Mobility explained, “Electric vehicles are evolving beyond simply being a means of transportation into sophisticated electronic devices. Just as an external battery is needed for smartphones, the demand for a delivery service that allows users to utilize their vehicles without the stress of charging will expand as electric vehicles become more mainstream.”

The charging delivery service can be accessed through the ‘Electric Vehicle Charging’ menu in the TMAP application by selecting the desired product (30 kWh to 50 kWh or charging up to 80% of the vehicle’s battery) and completing the reservation.

In celebration of the launch, TMAP Mobility is offering an unprecedented 50% discount event. During this promotional period, users can utilize the charging delivery service at half the regular price, providing an optimal opportunity for electric vehicle users who lack chargers at their residences or frequent locations.

Park Seo-ha, who oversees future mobility at TMAP Mobility, stated, “As electric vehicles become mainstream, the importance of infrastructure that allows for easy charging anytime and anywhere is growing. TMAP will continue to innovate for user convenience as a mobility platform appreciated by all drivers.”
