Aston Martin has begun pre-orders for the DB12, the world’s first Super Tourer model.
The Aston Martin DB12 is a new model in the DB series that enhances performance, technology, and luxury, showcasing the brand’s evolution. This year is particularly symbolic as it marks Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the DB series, with the DB12 expected to open a new era for the series through its cutting-edge technology and extraordinary performance wrapped in exquisite craftsmanship.
The DB12 features a meticulously tuned 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering exceptional performance with a 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. It achieves a maximum output of 680 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and generates peak torque of 800 Nm between 2,750 and 6,000 rpm, representing a 34% performance improvement over the previous model, the DB11.
The new DB12 enhances structural rigidity, suspension, and steering, providing refined handling and driving dynamics. Notably, it is also the first in the Aston Martin DB series to feature an electronic rear differential (E-Diff), significantly improving cornering performance while offering excellent responsiveness in low to medium speeds and perfect control at high speeds.
Additionally, the DB12 is equipped with a premium electronic stability control (ESC) system, allowing easy switching between five driving modes: GT, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual, and Wet. The Wet mode enhances stability on wet and slippery roads. Each mode can be precisely customized to meet the driver’s needs and preferences through adjustments to the chassis, powertrain, ESP, and traction control systems.
