Mercedes-Benz Korea Invites Applications for the 16th Electric Vehicle Traineeship Program

Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 7th that it is recruiting candidates for the 16th ‘Automotive Electric Traineeship (AET)’ program aimed at fostering skilled technicians in the electric vehicle sector until the 28th.

The AET program is a revamped version of the ‘Automotive Mechatronic Traineeship (AMT)’ program, which began in 2006. It has been updated to focus on specialized training for electric vehicle maintenance in line with Mercedes-Benz’s electrification strategy. This program aims to ensure that customers of pure electric vehicles are satisfied with the maintenance services in the era of electric vehicles, emphasizing the cultivation of next-generation electric vehicle talents and the enhancement of sustainable maintenance capabilities, based on a customer-centric philosophy.

The AET program consists of a total of 20 courses, including work safety management for EQ vehicles, drive systems, high-voltage battery control systems, cooling systems, and maintenance of electric vehicle charging equipment. The program includes approximately 14 weeks of theoretical education and 40 weeks of practical training at the Mercedes-Benz Korea Training Academy and official service centers. Graduates will receive various official certifications, including becoming a Mercedes-Benz certified high-voltage specialist (HV Level 3). Furthermore, graduates will also have employment opportunities at official Mercedes-Benz dealerships and service centers.

The AET 15th cohort, launched in September last year, is diligently completing their specialized electric vehicle maintenance training with the goal of graduating in December. Since 2006, Mercedes-Benz Korea is expected to have produced over 240 certified professional technicians by the end of this year.

This recruitment for the AET 16th cohort is targeted at final-year students in automotive programs at technical colleges nationwide. Additional information regarding the application for the program can be found on the official Mercedes-Benz Korea website’s announcements.
