Toyota Korea Donates Over $90,000 Worth of Automotive Parts to Ajou University

Toyota Korea has donated automotive parts worth approximately 90 million KRW to Ajou University as part of its industry-academic cooperation program, T-TEP (TOYOTA Technical Experience Program).

This donation is aimed at providing various practical training environments for Ajou University students to acquire automotive maintenance skills, thereby supporting the cultivation of highly skilled talents.

Among the Toyota and Lexus vehicle parts delivered this time, there are components from Lexus’s first supercar, the ‘LFA,’ allowing students to participate in a wider range of practical exercises. The development period for the Lexus supercar ‘LFA’ took about 10 years, and it was released in a limited edition of 500 units in 2010, standing at the pinnacle of Lexus’s high-performance brand line ‘F.’

Manabu Konyama, President of Toyota Korea, stated, “The philosophy behind Toyota’s desire to create better cars is reflected even in the automotive repair sites where customers’ vehicles are serviced. We are not only providing opportunities to acquire the skills and knowledge required in the field, but are also committed to continually unearthing talents that will lead the future of the automotive industry.”

The T-TEP program, aimed at nurturing talent in the automotive field through industry-academic cooperation education, has established partnerships with seven automotive technical universities across the country, including Ajou University, since 2020. These include Seoyoung University in Paju and Gwangju campuses, Daelim University, Busan University of Science and Technology, Seojeong University, Yeoju University, and Korea Polytechnics University’s Nam Daegu campus, continuing educational and donation activities.

As of 2022, 13 training vehicles for practical training have been donated to automotive technical universities, and programs are held each semester to educate on Toyota and Lexus’s electrification technologies and field expertise.
