Hyundai Launches the 2023 Casper: A Practical Choice for Economic Times

Hyundai Motor Company has launched the ‘2023 Casper’ on the 27th (Thursday) and has officially begun sales.

The 2023 Casper features an economical new trim and additional new exterior colors, broadening customer options.

Hyundai has introduced the ‘The Essential Light’ trim focusing on practicality, offering a total of four trims.

The Essential Light includes driver’s seat ventilation, first-row heated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with heating), button start & smart key, and synthetic leather seats, ensuring convenience for both drivers and passengers as standard features.

Hyundai has priced the Essential Light at 14.9 million won, enhancing customer satisfaction with this competitively priced offering that features core specifications.

A matte version of the exterior color ‘Tomboy Khaki,’ which was the most popular choice among customers, has been newly added, making a total of seven exterior colors available.

The Casper Van model, which previously had a single trim, now features the upgraded trim ‘Smart Choice.’

The Smart Choice comes standard with a 7-airbag system (including a first-row center side airbag), driver’s seat armrest, driver’s seat ventilation, first-row heated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with heating), button start & smart key, and synthetic leather seats, enhancing its marketability.

Additionally, the ‘Smart Plus’ package, which was previously only available in the base model, has been added to the Van model, expanding customer choices. When choosing this package, features such as button start & smart key, an 8-inch navigation system (including Blue Link, phone projection, Hyundai Pay), rearview monitor, six speakers, full auto air conditioning, micro air filter, and rear wiper & washer are included.

The sales prices for the 2023 Casper are as follows: base model Smart at 13.85 million won, The Essential Light at 14.9 million won, The Essential at 16.9 million won, and Inspiration at 18.7 million won. The Van models are priced at Smart for 13.75 million won and Smart Choice for 14.8 million won.

Meanwhile, Hyundai will launch various marketing activities coinciding with the release of the 2023 Casper.

Hyundai has collaborated with the popular character IP “Kungya Restaurants” to release the “Casper x Onion Kungya” emoticon and is running an event where searching for the hidden “Onion Kungya” character on the Casper online estimate page will grant a chance to receive the emoticon.

By tagging friends in the collaboration event post on Hyundai’s official Instagram channel ‘About Hyundai,’ 100 participants will be selected by random draw to receive a limited edition car air freshener.

Moreover, starting today for about a month, Hyundai will display the Casper at five Homeplus stores (Gangseo, Bucheon Sang-dong, Wonju, Yuseong, and Gimhae) and will offer contract fee exemption coupons and other promotions for customers who sign contracts on the same day. A collaboration with the nut brand ‘HBAF’ will see the sale of ‘Honey Butter Almond Casper Edition’ at Homeplus stores nationwide.

A Hyundai representative stated, “We launched the 2023 Casper to emphasize practicality for customers in the challenging economic environment of high interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates,” adding, “By introducing an economical trim with practical specifications, we aim to provide customers with the best choices.”
