BMW Unveils the Impressive New 740d xDrive Diesel Model in South Korea

BMW Korea officially launches the new 740d xDrive diesel model of the new 7 Series in the domestic market.

The BMW New 7 Series is a completely redesigned seventh-generation model that emphasizes an overwhelming presence and luxurious feel, offering a unique luxury experience based on a differentiating digital experience provided by the new entertainment system.

The exterior of the new 7 Series features separated headlights and the iconic BMW crystal headlight glow, providing a distinct presence and feel. The vehicle has grown in size, with a length increase of 130mm, width increase of 50mm, and height increase of 65mm compared to the previous generation long wheelbase model, resulting in a more comfortable and spacious interior.

The new 740d xDrive is equipped with a TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, enhanced by the latest 48-volt mild hybrid technology for additional power. This setup not only supports engine performance but also enhances efficiency, boasting a fuel economy of 12.5km per liter. Additionally, the system delivers a combined maximum output of 299 horsepower and maximum torque of 68.3kg·m, paired with an 8-speed Steptronic sports automatic transmission allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

Furthermore, the adaptive 2-axle air suspension optimizes vehicle height according to speed and driving mode, providing excellent stability and ride comfort.

The new 740d xDrive features an abundance of high-end convenience specifications designed to maximize a luxurious atmosphere, transforming the interior into a premium lounge-like space. These include an automatic door function that opens and closes the front and rear doors, a massage function for perfect relaxation, and the Heat Comfort package that includes heating for the front door and center armrest, along with a panoramic glass roof sky lounge and a rear theater screen, providing the most advanced new level of travel experience.

The BMW Theater Screen is the world’s first in-car entertainment system featuring a 31.3-inch panoramic display, integrating OTT platforms like Netflix and YouTube without the need for separate device connections, and supporting resolutions up to 8K. Services using eSIM are expected to be available through domestic telecommunications providers in the first half of the year.

The newly launched 740d xDrive offers two design options: the Pure Excellence design emphasizing elegance, and the sleek and powerful M Sport exterior. The BMW New 740d xDrive Pure Excellence is priced at 158.4 million KRW, while the M Sport variant is priced at 161.7 million KRW.

Meanwhile, BMW Korea continues to broaden customer choices in the New 7 Series lineup, following the introduction of existing gasoline and pure electric models with the addition of the diesel all-wheel model. A plug-in hybrid model, the 750e xDrive, is also set to launch in June.
