Seoul Mobility Show Named Among ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events’

The Seoul Mobility Show Organizing Committee announced on the 2nd that the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show has been selected as one of the ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events’ promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events’ is a selection of 100 events that allow foreign tourists to enjoy various attractive aspects of K-Culture, including culture, arts, content, and food, during the Years of Visit Korea 2023-2024. The selection was made after receiving recommendations from 17 metropolitan and provincial governments and private experts in the field, followed by a review of the initial eligibility requirements and a final adjudication committee.

Among the events highlighted in the Top 100 K-Culture tourism events are the ‘Seoul Festa 2023,’ showcasing K-pop performances and the beauty and culinary charms of global tourism city Seoul; the 14th and 15th Gwangju Biennale, themed ‘As Soft and Gentle as Water’ this year; and the cherry blossom festival ‘Jinhae Gunhangje.’ The inclusion of the Seoul Mobility Show reflects its growing significance in this prestigious list.

The Seoul Mobility Show, recognized as the only international exhibition certified by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, has been held biennially since 1995, making it Korea’s largest mobility industry exhibition. Its recognition in this year’s ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events’ highlights its status as a leading domestic exhibition and provides opportunities to promote the event globally.

This year’s exhibition will feature a wide array of mobility content, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, supercars, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, personal mobility, urban air mobility (UAM), drones, and autonomous ships from land, sea, and air. Additionally, there will be eco-friendly vehicle test drives and both online and offline events designed to focus on visitor experiences.

In addition to the offline exhibition, this Seoul Mobility Show will establish 3D exhibition spaces for major participating companies in an online (metaverse) environment, allowing both domestic and international visitors to comfortably enjoy the exhibition and participate in various events.

According to an organizing committee official, “The inclusion in the ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events’ is significant in announcing the status of the Seoul Mobility Show, the largest comprehensive exhibition in the country, to the world and demonstrating the potential for expanding the future mobility ecosystem. We will do our best to ensure that both domestic and international visitors can experience a comprehensive mobility culture through diverse attractions and experiential events this year.”
